The A25 doesn’t completely rewrite the established wisdom towards Arcam amplifiers but I don’t think it was meant to. This is a usefully updated and nicely cosmetically refreshed take on a formula that Arcam has been offering very successfully for decades.

With the new A25, Arcam has nailed the brief and delivered a highly competent integrated amplifier with broad appeal. The Radia styling enhances its look and feel, and the handy features make using it all the more pleasant. Sonically, the amp has a musically enjoyable character with plenty of power and grunt, which makes it ideal for driving a wide variety of loudspeakers. The overall package delivers higher levels of enjoyment than expected for its price, making it a compelling choice in its category.

The A25 is the physical manifestation of 'well considered.' The connectivity is comprehensive, it's well made and attractive and the sound quality is a gentle but effective evolution of the Arcam house sound. There are rivals that are better in specific areas but the all round capability here is hard to ignore.

The more I listen to the ARCAM A25, the greater I appreciate its sense of drive, clarity, spaciousness, and strong control of the bass range.
