The Omnia big standout tick is the CD player that is its edge coupled with the Audiolab smooth neutral sound quality that’s great with the right speakers. The music streaming smarts are now better too which is great but being honest Play-Fi is still not delivering at the same level of user experience as competitor solutions and this is important to consider especially if music streaming is what you do a lot. But if you are quite new to music streaming and not what you might be a call a power user then Play-Fi is quick and easy to use and its simplicity could be exactly what you need combined with multi room potential if you want it.

As long as you steer clear of dirt-cheap garage rock and the like, though, there are remarkably few downsides to Audiolab Omnia ownership. Its rather rustic control interface aside (and we’re not including the blameless DTS app in that, you understand), keep both the price and the extensive functionality uppermost in your mind and it’s an almost startlingly accomplished piece of equipment. Its power output may not look anything special when written down – because it isn’t – but the Omnia is resolute and deep-breathing enough to deal with any loudspeakers that can realistically be considered appropriate partners.

Audiolab Omnia all-in-one offers a rich array of features, making it highly versatile and particularly impressive in handling high-bitrate music, which is its greatest strength. The amplifier performance also meets the demands of entry-level enthusiasts, allowing them to enjoy the emotional impact of music when paired with a decent pair of bookshelf speakers.

n sound terms too, I have no complaints. Does the Omnia out perform a suite of separates that does the same job? A separate amplifier, a separate CD player, a separate streamer and the like? Well no. But then that’s not why you buy an all-in-one. You buy an all-in-one for the wealth of features that it offers, you buy it for the small footprint, because there’s no cabling involved, because there’s no installation for these included features, they’re connected and ready to go. And after that lot, you’re looking for a good quality sonic response.

Audiolab Omnia Review-The Wrap Up: All things considered, the $2299 Audiolab Omnia All-in-One Music System is one of the best sounding and best value all-in-one components on the market. Even more so when you factor in the inclusion of one of the best budget CD mechanisms on the market. It’s amazing that Audiolab could release such a relatively compact and high-quality device with just about every source on board for such a reasonable price.
