The Epson EH-TW9400 is an exceptional projector for the money, and represents the best choice for anyone looking in the £2,000-5,000 price range. The projector itself is well made, and boasts features rarely found at this price point such as a motorised lens cover, motorised lens controls, and a lens memory.
Although not a true 4K projector, the Epson EH-TW9400’s SDR and HDR performance can’t be beaten right now without spending thousands of pounds more. In fact, it’s arguably the projector bargain of the year
When it comes to sheer bang for buck, the EH-TW9400 is in a class of its own. It presents vibrant, contrast-rich images with a pixel density that feels effortlessly cinematic. Epson’s 4k Enhancement proposition may not be able to rival the fine detail more expensive native 4k projectors from Sony and JVC, but it’s debatable just how much of a shortfall it represents.
The Epson EH-TW9400 is a superb home cinema projector that delivers a winning combination of performance and high-end specs. While not technically 4K, it produces bright, detailed and saturated HDR images that are sure to please. It’s also competitively priced, with features that can put models costing twice as much to shame. This is the very definition of a big-screen best buy.
You simply do not get a better projector under 5,000 pounds today. And then you get motorized optics and lens memory with the purchase. The only thing you do not get is 4K resolution, but the other is more important.

This mid-range projector needs a bit of TLC to always get the best out of it, but the results are good enough to more than make the effort worthwhile.

Epson's EH-TW9400 does indeed live up to its claims in terms of high light output and P3 colour reproduction. It's not, however, without some caveats.
