The DG-1S doesn't radically change the premise of the original DG-1 but it refines it, resulting in a turntable that is both more sonically talented and more user friendly at the same time. Throw in the developing ecosystem of parts and accessories and you have a sensational turntable.

The Vertere DG1S and Sabre combination works exceptionally well. At the sharp end the Sabre is a more than competent performer, it gives huge insight into the emotional content of musical performances, their recorded space and dynamic range. The arm and turntable themselves are also superb; the only slight criticism I have of the turntable is the proximity of the on/off/33/45 button to the drive belt, but aside from that it does rather more than simply what it says on the tin.

The natural way that the DG-1 handles music, how it treats music with a sense of respect but also how music retains its organic and balanced nature. For these reasons and many more, you should take a close look at the Vertere DG-1. It’s a gem. I’m eager to hear more from this company.
