The K371 headphones are some of the best closed-back headphones you can find under USD$300. They are arguably the best if you value portability, isolation and tonality.

A real workhorse option for home studios. The high comfort level is perfectly suited for long sessions. The neutrality of these is also appealing. Accuracy is important when doing serious work and these tick all the right boxes.

The K371 is a fantastic package that offers very good value and really hits all the marks that you would want in a closed-back headphone. The K371 has a versatile and enjoyable tonality, it offers competitive technical performance for the price, it’s easy to drive, it’s very portable, and it includes a plethora of accessories. At its price tag of $149 the AKG K371 has sincerely impressed me, and I think that–at least for tonality–it should be considered as a closed-back benchmark.

Their bass and mid ranges are both remarkably accurate, and their treble range only has a few minor peaks and dips which likely won't be audible to most people. Unfortunately, they aren't the most consistent between reseats on your head, as their ear cups are prone to leaving gaps. This means that you may notice different bass and treble response depending on the fit you achieve, and those with glasses will likely have a hard time getting a proper seal.
