Theatre critics have a cliché phrase that’s used for many hits – “Kill to get a ticket!” I’m not a big fan of this phrase as I’m fairly convinced that sooner or later someone will take this as a command in our insane world and start opening fire in a box office. But the sentiment fits. The AKG N5005 – Kill to get a set!

The AKG N5005 is not the best performing wired earphone I’ve tested and even at the same price, it faces keen competition. What sets it apart is that this is an earphone that holds its own against the competition when you want to be an audiophile on the move. It can then pair up with a Pixel 2 or similar and continue to provide a significant chunk of its abilities where its rivals need additional equipment. This is brilliant forward thinking from AKG and it combines with the finest evolution of their earphone hardware yet. For these reasons, the N5005 has to be considered the Best in Class.

"Elite earphones for the extremely wealthy, the AKG N5005 cost the world but sound like heaven. From the premium packaging to the premium sound, they ooze quality, and offer so many customisation and cabling options it’s almost like getting several pairs of headphones in one box. If you can afford them, they’ll make your ears quiver with pleasure. "

The extensive range of accessories should provide everything you need to adapt it to your needs immediately and flexibly, both in terms of the fit and personal sound preference. Even non-business travellers will find that these AKG in-ears meet the highest sound standards. Whether or not these are worth a thousand euros in your mind is a question every user needs to ask for themselves. In my opinion, the asking price of the AKG N5005 is totally fair when compared to the scope of delivery and function.

Clearly, it is a modern update to the older K3003, but with some added bonuses and improvements.
