The Amazon Fire TV Omni Series might be missing a few specs compared to big-name rival brands, but for its affordable price, the Amazon Omni TV delivers decent 4K HDR images that help it stand out in a crowded market. It’s a great deal for the money and well worth buying if you’re already invested in Amazon’s device ecosystem.
Even though I've hit on a few sours points above, like the low nits and iffy 5GHz support, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better smart TV for the prices Amazon is selling the Omni line.
Amazon's first attempt at making its own television, the Fire TV Omni offers an impressive range of features for the price, tempered by average picture quality.
My overall takeaway after testing the Fire TV Omni is that it’s an attractively priced 4K TV with convenient voice controls — but only so-so picture quality
Amazon's first attempt at its own smart TV is a decent effort, but it's not quite on par with the competition. At a list price of $830, the 65-inch Omni is way too expensive. When on sale for $500, the TV offers better value — but only if features like hands-free Alexa and webcam support are big selling points to you.
It's alright for watching movies in a dark room, as it has excellent contrast. It's a decent choice for watching TV shows in a bright room, but it's not ideal for sports or video games due to the slow response time. Sadly, HDR adds almost nothing to movies or games, as it can't get very bright in HDR, and it can't display a wide color gamut. Finally, it's not recommended for PC use, as text looks blurry.
