The Amazon Fire TV Cube remains one of the most capable media streamers on the market thanks to its hands-free Alexa voice control, and the third-generation model adds Wi-Fi 6E and HDMI pass-through.

Both the Amazon Fire TV Cube (3rd Gen) and Alexa Voice Remote Pro pair up to offer a neat voice controlled ecosystem for all your TV equipment and streaming apps. Video and audio performance are excellent, too. The package is a joy to use and this is a good place to be if you are not wedded to the Apple IOS. But note you can get almost as much return from Amazon’s own Fire TV Stick 4K Max plus Echo Dot smart speaker for less moolah.

A powerful media streaming device from Amazon that takes steps forward in its processing capabilities and connectivity options but a few steps back with its less than democratic and dense interface. Those without the need to integrate a streamer within a home cinema set-up will be suited just fine by the Fire TV Stick 4K Max instead.

There's not much competition when it comes to streaming devices priced at more than $100. Amazon's new Fire TV Cube (2022) hits a lot of the checkboxes, while also making it easier for those who haven't cut the cord to control everything with a single remote.

If you have Amazon Prime, cable or satellite, and smart home devices, definitely consider upgrading to the Fire TV Cube 3rd generation.

The Fire TV Cube (3rd gen) easily outpaces siblings from the Fire TV and Echo families in the performance stakes, with an eye-catching design and expansive feature set to match. Uneven pricing means it doesn't quite grab the streaming box crown from premium rivals with better remotes and neater software, but the Fire TV Cube (3rd gen) does enough to earn its spot as the most powerful Amazon Fire TV device to date.

The Amazon Fire TV Cube 2022 doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it does add some worthwhile features.

I can say firmly that Amazon’s new Fire TV Cube has supplanted Google as the master of my TV. I’ll still use both Nest Minis for controlling lights and smart plugs, but having a dedicated device for entertainment is something I never thought I needed. That’s even without being able to test Wi-Fi 6E or using the Fire TV Cube in 4K.

My time spent with the third-generation Amazon Fire TV Cube was fantastic. The device is incredibly quick and the video quality is top-notch. The true power of the Fire TV Cube was the integration of Alexa. Using my voice to control the device was an intuitive and pleasurable experience that has radically altered the way I interact with my television.

The Amazon Fire TV Cube lets you control power, input switching and volume on your TV, sound bar or AV receiver hands-free from across the room, using only voice commands. You can also use your voice to change channels on a cable box. The microphones are superb at recognizing voice commands from afar, over the blare of speakers. Device control setup is as simple as possible.

The 3rd Gen Fire TV Cube is one of the most powerful media streamers around, and pulls double duty as an Echo Dot equivalent, but the steep price is hard to swallow.

Amazon's Fire TV Cube isn't perfect, mostly because it's full of annoying advertisements that go above and beyond the norm, but once you get past that, this speedy streaming device functions great if you're invested in the Amazon ecosystem.
