Closing our review we can say that we definitely liked what we saw with the Anthem MRX 740. The receiver is surely very capable and can output some amazing quality audio. If it was not for certain bugs in the software and feature omissions it would be a no brainer choice but considering the future updates and promises from Anthem the future of this unit is certainly bright.

The Anthem MRX 740 feels like a car that boasts a new body, but under the hood are largely parts from an earlier model. It sports identical controls, menus, remote and connections as the previous generation, but despite the groovy new design and web user interface, also supports the same features. This isn't really a bad thing because Anthem's receivers are always superb performers.

Anthem's seven-channel AVR boasts an attractive new makeover, superior performance, expansion options, and highly effective ARC Genesis room correction. We love it.
