I’m glad Apple took six years to release the new AirPods Max 2, because this is how you do a comeback. Stuffed full of AirPods Pro-esque features like Head Gestures, Live Translation, Camera Remote, and improved Siri integration, you might be wondering if Apple has placed too much importance on its smart tech features and forgotten about the sound quality. They absolutely have not. The AirPods Max 2 sound rich, complex, and, most importantly, fun.

Now that I've gotten my hands on the Max 2, I've changed my mind a bit. While I still don't care for their case, the upgrades are more meaningful than I thought and help make the headphones' high price a little more palatable.

The step up in audio quality on the new headphones, especially ANC, is considerable, and the features introduced with the H2 chip are highly enjoyable and useful.

So if you are in the market for premium overear headphones, I think it's very hard to go wrong with the AirPods Max second generation. Some people don't like how these are heavy on the head. I personally have never had the issue. I love the Canopy. I have from day one.
