The Audeze Mobius sounds fantastic, with a remarkably effective head-tracking 3D audio feature that really gives sound a sense of direction. It's also the most expensive gaming headset we've tested at $400, pricier than even the Beyerdynamic MMX 300. Both headsets prove you get what you pay for, with premium builds and excellent sound quality. With its 3D sound and wireless audio (even if wired is preferred for gaming use), the Audeze Mobius stands out as the best high-end gaming headset you can get, and earns our Editors' Choice.
For the gamer, especially the PC Gamer, this is in our opinion probably the best gaming headset on the market today. For the audiophile, there are probably better (and significantly more expensive) options available, but if you are heavily into gaming and enjoy high-quality audio playback, the Mobius from Audeze comes very highly recommended. So much so, when this review sample is returned, this reviewer will have to buy a pair!
An excellent, beautifully designed set of headphones with only minor quibbles; interesting features match with premium sound, though at a premium price
The Audeze Mobius headset is among the best headsets I’ve ever tested. It is, however, incredibly expensive. At $399, it is the most money you’ll spend on a dedicated headset. Between the incredible sound quality and advanced surround sound features, though, the Mobius has the tech to back up that price. That said, not everybody needs audiophile-grade sound and head-tracking, so I’d primarily recommend it for VR hobbyists and PC players who will pay any price to lose themselves in a game.
I absolutely love this headphone for media usage though, I watch a lot of YouTube and Rooster Teeth podcasts, so 3D mode actually benefits me a lot. Beyond that, having excellent BT audio quality when watching movies or YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video is an absolute godsend to me. Awesome sauce.
Audeze’s debut gaming headset, the Mobius, boasts sound quality that justifies its high sticker price—but it’s undermined slightly by some first-time-out errors.
The Audeze Mobius have a slightly bass-heavy sound that delivers extra thump, rumble, and boom. Their mid-range is also well-balanced and neutral so vocals and lead instruments are accurately reproduced. However, a dip in the treble range can veil and the upper harmonics of these sounds while dulling sibilants like cymbals. They don't produce a very immersive passive soundstage either, but with the 3D mode turned on, they have a much wider, artificial soundstage and can even track your head's position.
The Audeze mobius 3d headphones are a comfortable way to settle into premium audio at up to 7.1 Levels on the go, but this is a future proof headset that doesn't fully reach its potential for next-gen gaming or hi-fi bluetooth just yet.
If you absolutely must have a surround-capable headset with planar magnetic drivers and the option to go wireless, the Mobius fits the bill, and it’s a hefty bill at that. For everyone else, in every other niche that this product only lightly touches, there are better options.

This is one of the best gaming headsets you can buy. It's high priced, but worth it. The 3D audio sounds great, though it can feel a little gimmicky.
