There are many different gaming headsets from different manufacturers, giving gamers plenty of choices. beyerdynamic has created a great gaming headset in the MMX 150. Everything about these headphones is high-quality, from the memory foam earcups to the sleek design to the length of the included cables. A couple of minor changes, like adding a tone indicator when toggling augmented mode and software to tweak the audio when used on a PC would only make these better.
The Beyerdynamic MMX 150 headset is a fantastic piece of kit. It delivers rich-sounding audio whatever you're doing. The closed-back design also blocks out loads of external noise. And the microphone is absolutely superb.
There’s nothing much to say but the MMX 150 Headset is an outstanding kit. It offers rich and full-sounding audio no matter what you’re doing. And its closed-back design blocks loads of external noise while delivering rich sounding audio no matter what you’re doing.
Though seemingly perfectly in tune for gaming, they can also serve perfectly as casual and comfortable all purpose headphones that can be used in an office setting, especially considering the high quality microphone that comes included as well as the Augmented Mode capability. For just $50 more than the MMX 100, the Beyerdynamic MMX 150 come with some pretty sweet and thoughtful upgrades in the form of both sound quality and extra features.
For what you’re paying, the Beyerdynamic MMX 150 has a lot going for it. Whether or not you like the design from an aesthetic standpoint, it’s super comfortable. It also sounds great—as good or better than many $150 wireless headphones—and, thanks to its collection of connection wires, it’s compatible with PC, Mac, game consoles, mobile devices, and so on. Basically, if you can game on it, the MMX 150 will work with it.
The Beyerdynamic MMX 150 is a solidly made, if a little pricey, gaming headset with tons of replaceable parts and great fundamentals. It has a couple of nice extra touches, but only over a wired USB connection.
If you value precise reproduction, you might have found what you’re looking for with these headphones, and the microphone also made a good impression. The Augmented Mode is a useful addition, but there are limitations when the MMX 150 is operated purely in analogue mode.
My experience with the beyerdynamic MMX 150 Studio-class USB Gaming Headset was, overall, a positive experience. The headset delivers a fairly broad soundscape across multiple media types. We found that it provided great quality of sounds at lower volumes even in bass-rich environments. The listening experience was only rivaled by the microphone quality - which speaks well of both!
