Reaching the end of this review we can say that Dali has once again managed to create a great speaker set with the Oberon 5 being a model for every situation either it be music or movies. With great audio performance, nice and simplistic design, superior build quality that is characteristic of Dali’s expertise and a price that is more or less good for what is offered it seems that the Danish company has created another scoring performer.
DALI’s OBERON 5 is a little floorstander with a big sound. Slender and attractive, it combines decent build and some clever engineering to deliver a seriously enjoyable performance – one that is full-bodied, musical, spacious and balanced. The speaker plays any type of music well and delivers an enveloping sound that lets you play for hours without fatigue. Superb value for money, it is thoroughly deserving of StereoNET’s coveted Applause Award.
Oberon 1 has a high quality overall! Although Dali Oberon 1 bookshelf speaker is positioned as an entry-level bookshelf speaker, it performs like a mid- to high-end bookshelf speaker in many ways. The highs are well extended, the mids have rich detail, the bass is sufficient, the transient performance of the mid and high frequencies is good, and the separation is good. Oberon 1 is a very powerful product at this price.
Soundwise, the smallest Oberon is an agile and crispy fresh, even somewhat cheeky and characterful speaker, whose joy of playing infects the listener. It brings the necessary energy and is a lot of fun, reminding us of the enormous class of her bigger siblings, while also having that touch of gentleness that makes even bad recordings bearable. A great bargain!
It’s always funny to me when a company labels something as an entry-level speaker, especially when it’s Dali. Entry level to them clearly means better than many other brands’ flagships. I really like the look of the Oberon 5 and I like the sound even more. I wish they would change the base out but thankfully there are solutions to that which don’t cause too much inconvenience. The price is about right to the performance and the weight of carrying such a respected name brand so yeh, I can definitely recommend these especially if you are someone with a varied taste in music.
Dali loudspeakers have never failed to impress and excite me regardless of configuration or price point. I recall the grandeur of the imposing MegaLine flagship that I heard at REG’s home years ago, or more down-to-earth models like the Rubicon series equipped with its impressive hybrid ribbon/soft-dome tweeter module. It could be, however, that Dali’s most remarkable feat has been stretching the sonic limits in the small floorstander category. In the Oberon 5, I found an economical yet formidable speaker that makes few concessions and permits you to walk the fine line of everyday practicality while still allowing your audiophile heart to lead the way.
In conclusion, the DALI Oberon 5 is a fantastic bookshelf speaker due to its high-quality sound and stylish, contemporary appearance. Its broad frequency response, cutting-edge driver technology, and improved crossover design allow it t? faithfully reproduce a wide spectrum of tones, from deep, powerful bass to piercingly pure highs.
One potential drawback of listening through lots of gear in all price ranges on a regular basis is a sense of loss – the experience of missing things that are no longer there due to a change in gear. Perhaps DALI’s SMC tech is akin to Cupid’s elixir but in any event, the Oberon C have been touched by some kind of special sauce transforming an affordable speaker into a compellingly balanced music maker.
I liked the Oberon 3s. They offered very good sound and have a distinct style that should appeal to almost any home décor they are placed in. I appreciate the European design, which goes far beyond many American speakers that offer only black or walnut veneers. The front grilles look sharp and I felt they helped take some of the edge off the treble of certain recordings. Want more of that edge? Take the grilles off. The speakers look great either way. The E-9 F sub put out powerful bass that belied its compact size. Put them all together and you have a serious 2.1 music system that draws attention to the sound while bringing delight to the eyes.
The Dali Oberon 5 is an impressive speaker that delivers exceptional sound quality and a refined design. It is well-suited for music lovers who want a speaker that can handle a wide range of genres and listening environments. While it is not the cheapest speaker on the market, its performance justifies its price tag. If you are in the market for a high-end floor-standing speaker, the Dali Oberon 5 is definitely worth considering.
The DALI Oberon 5 is a truly remarkable speaker…I have no idea how they got such a big, musical sound in such a neat and tidy package. They do all the audiophile stuff like soundstage, separating instruments, and, imaging but at the same time they never forget to have fun. If you’re looking for a quality floorstander that is easy to set up, fits any room, and provides top-notch sound, these DALIs fit the bill…They get a perfect 10 out of 10 score, which I rarely give! Highly Recommended!
DALI Oberon 1 is the second most expensive model in the test, but you get full value for money in the form of a very nuanced and accurate music reproduction. The sensitivity is the lowest in the test, so forget about playing loud. Oberon 1 is also available in an active version with a built-in amplifier. But the passive is actually even better.

The Dali Oberon 5 is a beautiful looking, beautiful sounding, and remarkably space-conscious floor speaker.

These Oberon 3s have a big and bold sound, but they're not quite a five-star all-rounder
