This recommendation is going to fall almost identically to the NeoBuds Pro review we did: this speaker is fantastic, if it fits your tastes. As a 2000’s rock guy, I think it’s great.

The Edifier MS50A works really well as a Bluetooth speaker, being able to reproduce a very mainstream sound, the build quality is great and, while I was skeptical of the controls at the beginning, they’re actually more intuitive than expected. As a WiFi speaker, the experience is a bit different mostly due to the omission of the microphone. I am one of those people that applaud privacy-related features, but I am not entirely sure if it truly made sense in this case. Regardless of that, it doesn’t take away that much from the experience, since another device can take the role for vocal commands, so if this is not a deal-breaker, then the Edifier MS50A is one of the best in its class, especially considering the price tag.

A few gripes aside, I certainly think the Edifier MS50A justifies its $150 price tag. It looks good in pretty much any environment, never distracting or sticking out. To me, it's the right blend of modern sophistication and classic design. The speaker delivers on my expectations for audio sound and quality, and I imagine that pairing multiple units together is better than the sum of its parts.

A very good sounding wireless speaker, but one that isn’t quite as smart as it’s being marketed as. Still, where sound quality is concerned, the Edifier MS50A offers an enjoyable clear performance with strong bass.

Overall the Edifier MS50A is an elegantly designed, easy-to-use AirPlay 2 smart speaker that will fill a room with sound without breaking the bank.

Regardless, if you want your music to sound like music and not noise, the Edifier MS50A wireless smart speaker is a good place to start.
