With great audio, ANC, and a fantastic transparency mode, the Pixel Buds Pro deliver a premium earbud experience in ways Google's past attempts couldn't. If you're an Android user with $200 to spend on earbuds, these are a great pick.
Super comfortable design. Great sound, especially bass. Wireless charging case. Seven hours of playtime with noise canceling on. Cheaper than AirPods Pro. Great touch controls. Easily switches between multiple devices. Fun colors.
Google’s best earbuds yet are also its most complete package thus far. All of the features that made 2020’s redesigned Pixel Buds and the A-Series follow-up such compelling options for Android users, especially Pixel owners, are back. And while the Pixel Buds Pro are $20 more than what we got two years ago, the 2022 version is much improved. Active noise cancellation and the refined sound quality are equally impressive, and well worth the extra money. As long as Google can deliver spatial audio quickly and it works well, the only thing lacking is call quality, which may not be a dealbreaker for you.
Google has once again stepped into the premium audio arena and while there are undoubted downsides, things are better than ever. Audio quality remains a weak area, meaning that if you want fidelity, then you should probably look elsewhere. Cohesion and lifespan are two areas where the Pixel Buds Pro excel.
Android users can rejoice at the knowledge that there’s now another excellent true wireless earbuds that they can buy. The Pixel Buds Pro has deep integration with Android, excellent ANC, good battery life, and sounds quite great. And as I said in the beginning, at S$299, it’s one of the more affordable flagship-class true wireless earbuds available. And when you consider its features and how competent it is, it turns out it's also one of the best value-for-money earbuds you can buy. Considering this is Google’s first attempt at a high-end earbud with ANC, it’s an impressive and mostly wonderful effort.
The Google Pixel Buds Pro combine booming audio, ANC and an eye-catching design, setting them leagues apart from their predecessors. While they might not be particularly suited for smaller ears or pack extra sound features for audiophiles, they still deliver some of the best lows we’ve seen on a pair of Pixel Buds.
The Pixel Buds Pro are Google’s best set of earbuds yet. They’ve shed the connectivity flaws that sank the second-gen model while adding respectable active noise cancellation, longer battery life, and superior sound. And the inclusion of multipoint makes them genuinely more useful day to day. Like any pricey earbuds, you’ll want to try them on for yourself to get a feel for the fit. But assuming the new, bulkier design jibes with your ears, Google finally has a full-featured, flagship pair of earbuds that Pixel fans can enjoy without any back-of-mind reservations or second thoughts — just as it ought to be for $200.
As mentioned above, I already bought a pair and plan to use the Pixel Buds Pro when I need a high-end audio experience in wireless form. And while they worked just fine during my workouts or runs or when on-the-go, the weight and beefiness of them was a bit tiring at times. However, I’ll continue to test in those situations to see if my ears will get used to them, because the sound is quite lovely and I’d rather not go back to the lower-end Pixel Buds A sound, even if those do fit lighter.
They are comfortable, sound great and have solid noise cancelling, and the battery lasts a good seven hours. The controls are excellent, as is the pocketable case. They have useful features such as multipoint connectivity for more than one device at a time and good call quality.
The Pixel Buds Pro make a much better case for themselves that Google's previous offerings. A comfortable fit, good sound quality and plenty of features means there's plenty here to get your teeth into - and they naturally make a lot more sense to someone invested in the Google ecosystem, with the most seamless operation coming when used with the Pixel phones.
Despite some curious design decisions, the Pixel Buds Pro are respectable noise-canceling earbuds with great sound and deep Google Assistant integration.
The new Pixel Buds Pro are the best earbuds Google has made, and more than that, they’re serious contenders for any Android user looking for price-friendly flagship buds. While there’s still some polish to work out (especially when it comes to the missing connection features) these buds shine with excellent controls, good features and performance, and great battery playback time. They’re also comfy and rather stylish, too.
If you don't consider yourself an audiophile, then you'll love the Google Pixel Buds Pro. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to audio as I have a musical background, but that also meant I knew what I was able to change to make these earphones sound good. If you don't think you'll care, then these are definitely a great pair of earphones to pick up.
The Pixel Buds Pro are off to a good start, with commendable clarity to go with solid active noise cancelation to block out the noise. We could use a little more bass, though.
Even though I had issues with the fit in my eyes, the actual comfort is miles ahead of the WF-1000XM4 and Apple’s AirPods. I could wear these buds all day without any discomfort, something I have rarely been able to do before.
Promising on paper, the Google Pixel Buds Pro brings active noise cancelling (ANC) and a redesigned earbud to the table. The case now sports an IPX2 water-resistant build to go with the buds' IPX4 rating. The vastly improved battery life and noise cancelling combined with the Google Assistant integration are the driving reasons to give this one a whirl.
The Pixel Buds Pro have a few things going for them. I liked how well the case is designed and built. The audio quality is good enough for the average user and on par with the best that is available among wireless earbuds. And the battery life is excellent.
The AirPods Pro work just as seamlessly with an Android device as they do with an iOS device, so I do prefer the AirPods Pro. But, if you want to save some money, the Pixel Buds Pro are the next best thing. The battery life is great and the seamless transition when switching between devices makes the Buds Pro easy to use. The quality is almost as clear as Airpods Pro, but the clunkier design makes them feel a bit awkward.
Although our graphs show that they have a fairly flat sound, their real-life sound is more v-shaped. It's likely due to the buds popping out of our test rig's ears since even in their smallest size, they don't fit the ears well. Subjectively, they deliver extra thump and rumble with extra brightness devoted to vocals, lead instruments, and sibilants. You can adjust their sound using their app's graphic EQ and presets, though. Unfortunately, they're closed-back in-ear headphones, so their passive soundstage doesn't sound very immersive.
Google's Pixel Buds Pro arrive in a competitive market and the standout feature is an AirPods Pro-beating 31-hour battery life – but if Google is to challenge the class-leaders, the sound quality needs some work.
The Google Pixel Buds Pro deliver satisfying audio, effective noise cancellation, and some unique Android-only features, but lack the codec support to deliver the best sound quality on Android devices.
