The U7H is one of those rare TVs that feels like a fair deal. It’s by no means perfect, but for the price, it’s rather shocking how well-rounded it is. In a year full of impressive Hisense TVs, the U7H might be the best deal of them all.
When I take everything into consideration, I think we’re looking at a TV that offers almost everything the more expensive step-up model does, except the more powerful brightness. Everything else is practically the same. I think people who really want a super bright TV – and I mean super-duper bright, might be satisfied with spending a bit more for the U8H. But for most consumers, I think the U7H is the smarter buy. I know that the price gap isn’t huge, but it’s nothing to dismiss, either.
The U7H TV gives you a lot more than other budget TVs do. It’s an impressive TV in terms of picture quality, design, and smart features. With a 120Hz native refresh rate, it’s also the perfect TV for gamers.
The Hisense U7H is quite an impressive TV. Not only is its general viewing experience decent but its gaming features tick all the boxes for those looking for a 4K120Hz TV for their PS5 and Xbox Series X. It has a great panel and feature set so definitely put this on your list of TVs when shopping around for a model that does it all.
It's best for watching movies in SDR or HDR in a dark room thanks to its excellent contrast ratio and good local dimming feature. It's also good for watching shows or sports in a bright room, as it can easily overcome glare thanks to its high SDR peak brightness and good reflection handling, but it's limited a bit by its sub-par viewing angle. It delivers a very good gaming experience, with low input lag and some great gaming features. Sadly, it has a slow response time and can't display 4k @ 120Hz signals properly, which also limits its usefulness as a PC monitor.
We loved the Hisense U7H. It was able to deliver an excellent all-around image quality in its price range, and while the HDR highlights aren’t going to stun as much as some options, the U7H is a better complete package. That’s not to mention the HDMI 2.1 ports for gaming, and smart, easy-to-use Google TV operating system.
The Hisense U7H TV offers strong picture quality and gaming features for the price, though other Hisense models strike an even better balance between price and performance.
The U7H is a mixed bag for image quality and probably best avoided for movie fans looking to watch in dim surroundings, but for normal living room TV duties the image quality is perfectly serviceable with a good smart TV system and decent gaming credentials. It would certainly make a good second TV within the home and if that fits with what you are looking for, the U7H is probably worth a consideration.
