For $99, these are a pretty solid pair of headphones. Their noise cancelling abilities are very good, especially for over ears, and they’ll satisfy most low end lovers without overwhelming the less bass-inclined. Their midrange ensures consistent presence and fullness across all genres, and that vocals will always get plenty of highlighting. The Tune 660’s punchy execution holds the listener’s attention and they keep the sound clean enough to make them feel like a bargain for the price.
Not everyone is prepared to pay above the odds for a pair of headphones, though it seems unfair that you’ll be cursed with poor sound quality because of it. Not anymore, the JBL Tune 660NC have impressive, detailed, punchy sound and fantastic noise-cancelling to match. These are great value headphones!
There’s a comfort level with the Tune 660NC that surprised me, they really are very comfortable to a point where I forgot I had them on. The fact that they had pretty good noise isolation, even without ANC, caused a few minor issues with me hearing what was going on around the house.
They deliver sound quite consistently and have a slightly v-shaped sound profile, which adds a bit of extra rumble, punch, and brightness. They should be suitable for a variety of genres, though. However, some listeners may find sibilant sounds like cymbals are slightly piercing or harsh. Their soundstage doesn't seem very open or spacious either, which is typical for closed-back headphones. Unfortunately, they also lack any sound customization features.
