It may be pricey as consumer projectors go, even as JVC's cheapest native 4K model, but the DLA-NX5 continues the company's long history of producing some of the best home theater projectors on the market.
JVC has clearly heard this message loud and clear, decisively moving away from pixel shifting technology in their entire line up and offering industry leading contrast and superior optics at a price in line with Sony and other competitors. The RS1000 is without question the price:performance leader in a crowded market and deserves an extremely close look. If you can say still say no after doing so, color me surprised. Highly Recommended.
Overall, the DLA-N5 is an excellent entry point to native 4K projection from JVC and it offers superb SDR and very good HDR picture quality. The lack of a WCG filter is not a major factor as the image quality with HDR is still some of the best we have yet seen from a projector. We are struggling to find any real negatives with the N5 and as such it comes highly recommended.
Getting a true 4K projector was a dream for many home theater fans but up until recently prices were very high for most people to consider. With Sony offering a true 4K projector in the $5,000 limit made the competition follow accordingly and now we see some models priced even below that price making them more affordable than even.

Even at this price, this JVC projector is a bargain. It offers a decent slice of the range-topping performance at a fraction of the cost
