Compact form. Relatively interesting looks. Extensive wired and wireless connectivity. Useful control app. Deft and punchy sound.

Everything is relative, of course. For example, is KEF's LSX II LT a match for the Sonus faber Duetto wireless stereo speaker system I reviewed for StereoNET a short while ago? Well. No, it isn't. But then again, the latter costs over four times its price, so the question really should be – is it worth its asking price? That's easy. The answer is undoubtedly yes, all day long.

In our sound evaluation, the new KEF sound transducers impressed with their fantastic resolution and enormous level stability. The active speakers also offer outstanding spatiality, which we would not have expected. Vocal elements were always captured sensitively and with clear contours. The bass range comes through much more emphatically than should actually be the case with such compact speakers. Overall, another great performance, for which the purchase price of EUR 999 can be considered a bargain.

A full helping of KEF performance from a usefully compact system at a reasonably compact price. Unless you live in an aircraft hangar, there’s no reason not to check out this impressive all-in-one setup.
