The bright, punchy picture put out by LG’s mid-range C4 OLED TV captivated us when we first saw it, and now that we’ve completed a full review we can confirm that it does improve on last year’s also-impressive LG C3. With the C4, you get a TV with refined picture quality, a sturdy design, and key gaming features including 4K 144Hz support. It’s not the cheapest TV option by a long shot, but movie fans and gamers alike will find plenty to love about the LG C4.
The LG C4 is amazing for mixed usage. If you're a console or PC gamer, this TV is a fantastic choice due to its advanced gaming features. It has a nearly instantaneous response time for clear motion, which also makes it fantastic for playing video games, but also makes it excellent for watching sports or for use as a PC monitor. The TV is suitable for use in a bright room due to its very good SDR brightness and outstanding reflection handling. However, it also looks remarkable in a dark room thanks to its nearly infinite contrast ratio, with highlights that stand out in HDR content due to its great HDR brightness. Its wide viewing angle makes it suitable for watching TV with a group, but there's a noticeable green tint when viewed from an angle.

Perfect contrast. Fantastic highlights and color. Easy to navigate interface thanks to LG Magic Remote. Bright enough for well-lit rooms. 144-Hz refresh rate and Nvidia G-Sync support for gamers. Dolby Vision support.
The C4 also allowed for greater customization of settings, even beyond switching game genres to best suit the content. The S90D allowed tailoring of black levels, but the LG allowed for a whole array of other minor tweaks in its Game Optimizer settings menu. This won't matter to the average gamer, but would appeal for those picture quality fanatics who appreciate the ability to customize even the most granular settings.
LG C4 reaches the significant milestone of 1000 nits peak brightness in smaller areas of the picture, and it also delivers higher full-screen luminance that is more comparable Panasonic's top models with custom cooling from a few years ago. With the arrival of MLA and QD-OLED panels – neither of which are in C4 – brightness has indeed increased further – for example in LG's own G series – but we see here how technology development slowly trickles down to lower classes.
The LG C4 OLED TV is a real winner in most categories thanks to stunning picture quality, game performance and features. But small issues, like its unexciting sound, and tough competition from Samsung and Sony prevent it from being the best option out there right now.
Offering a dynamic picture performance and stylish design, the LG OLED C4 is a peerless 4K OLED at this level. Not only is its cinematic presentation popcorn-tastic, it also sets a high bar when it comes to gaming. A feature-packed webOS smart TV platform is the icing on a class-leading OLED cake.
The C4 is a surprisingly large upgrade on the uncharacteristically dull C3 of last year. Big improvements to brightness and sharpness make for an image with lots of pop and dynamism, and the rich tone and vibrant colours are a delight – but LG has tempered all of this with realism, consistency and authenticity. Sound quality has been significantly improved, too. This is the first 2024 mid-range OLED TV that we have tested, but it has laid the gauntlet for its rivals in dramatic fashion.
Using this TV since December 2024 , until now November 2025 haven't had any problems . A few lags here and there when turning it on but nothing like experience breaking . The image quality is very good since is my first OLED tv . One thing is for sure, that I never go back to a LCD type display tv even with new tehnologies oled-like . I did every update that was released for this tv until now , even the major update of the WebOS 2025 . Overall is a good TV and if you can buy an OLED go for it .
