With last year's G5, LG made an impressive leap forward due to the new tandem panel. That is less the case with G6. In many respects, it closely mirrors its predecessor, but it does address several minor shortcomings. The new WRGB OLED panel does not deliver a dramatic increase in peak brightness, yet the improvement is noticeable in HDR.

So the OLED65G6 is the cheapest 65in model that carries LG’s latest, greatest TV picture capabilities. And finally, the OLED65G6’s design is plenty premium and slim enough to prevent me constantly wishing it was the new ‘Wallpaper’ TV instead.

Though I saw little difference in brightness between the G6 and G5, in most materials, it was in HDR gaming that the boost was noticeable, with the G6 a little bit brighter. Both are a blast to play video games on, though.

There’s no doubt the LG G6 is outstanding in places.

The LG engineers have learned lessons after G5, and with a new and improved processor married to the Primary RGB Tandem Four Stack panel, the G6 offers some of the very best HDR images I have seen for a while, which are clean of issues like posterisation and gradational issues, for the most part.
