The Monoprice Monolith AMT is an excellent set of headphones to delve into the world of Air Motion Transformer drivers. However, it's a more of a hobbyist item than a highly-polished product. It requires a level of dedication and familiarity with headphone tech to get the most out of it, and some won't have the patience.
But those tonal colorations were never severe enough to get in the way of me enjoying the sound. Yeah, the AMTs are idiosyncratic in ways, but I think a lot of headphone enthusiasts will love them for their strengths and ignore their fairly modest weaknesses.
