If high-octane brightness is what you’re after, there are plenty of LCD/LED TVs on deck for 2022 from Sony, Samsung, LG, TCL, and Vizio. Many of these models will feature display technology similar to the QN90B’s. It might be worth your while to wait and see how these TVs stack up before reaching for your credit card.

Samsung’s best 4K UHD LCD TV offers a terrific HDR image, along with top-of-the-line HDMI ports and a remote that can be charged via RF harvesting, but the convoluted interface demands too many clicks.

Another bright, colourful Neo QLED TV from Samsung, the QN90B has definite strengths and some unavoidable drawbacks such as blooming. Well-built and well specc’d, if you’re happy to miss out on Dolby Vision, this TV delivers spectacularly bright images across all types of content.

My experience with the Samsung QN90B over the last few weeks has been simply magical. Some users might be put off by the confuddling home screen, but if you need a bright picture for your bright living room or want high-quality 4K imagery, then this TV could be perfect for your needs. Those that just want a large, lifelike clear picture without wanting to deeply dive into the specs will also greatly enjoy this TV.

It's amazing for watching TV shows or sports in a bright room thanks to its high peak brightness and superb reflection handling. It delivers an impactful HDR experience in a dark room, thanks to its great contrast, impressive local dimming feature, and exceptional peak brightness in HDR. It also delivers an excellent gaming experience with low input lag, a fast pixel response time, and a slew of great gaming features. It's also a fantastic choice for use as a PC monitor, as it supports most common resolutions and chroma 4:4:4 is displayed properly, which is essential for clear text.

In all, the Samsung QN90B QLED is an excellent TV for just about anything. With a robust and easy-to-use interface, this feature-rich smart TV offers great response time and input lag for console and PC gaming. And, if you really must, its bright color display makes for some great TV watching, too.

Samsung's QN90B is a great example, delivering searing brightness with few other compromises thanks to QLED, mini-LED and local dimming technology. It's a futuristic-sounding mouthful, but it works.

Slim, elegant design. Mini LED backlighting means excellent contrast. Super bright, even in light rooms. Easy to set up. Has all the apps you want. Easy to pair with Samsung phones. Variable bit rate supports up to 120 Hz for gaming.

The Samsung QN90B features a bright and beautiful panel in a thin and lightweight chassis. It’s a really nice television, it’s just competing with OLEDs and QD OLEDs at its price which, in 2022, puts it in an awkward place.
