Frankly, I don’t envy the folks shopping for a mini-LED TV this year. If you have the means, the QN90C is one of the best options on the market, but if you’re looking to stretch your dollar as much as possible, I’d give the QM8 and the U8K a hard look, or at the very least, wait for the QN90C’s price to come down later this year.
Very high brightness output and strong contrast.
Beautiful picture quality with vibrant, natural-looking colors.
Minimalist design makes the viewing experience more enjoyable.
User-friendly UI that is easy to use and navigate
Very little light-bloom when light sources clash with dark areas of the TV.
The Samsung QN90C Neo QLED TV has all the hallmarks of a premium TV: best-in-class HDR brightness, ample viewing options and strong picture performance. Despite minor qualms, this is the QLED to beat this year.
Samsung’s next-best model in its Neo QLED series of TVs offers high brightness and impressive all-around video performance. And while it doesn’t hit the same performance heights as the company’s flagship QN95 series, it’s a good deal less expensive while checking off many of the same boxes from a features standpoint. With its anti-glare screen, the QN90C is a great option for daytime sports viewing, and its comprehensive gaming support also makes it a perfect choice for console- or cloud-based gaming.
While it lacks the design glamour and extreme backlight prowess of Samsung's QN95C and can't offer quite the same local contrast that you'd get with an OLED TV, the QE65QN90C delivers an outstanding Mini LED picture performance for its money.
The Samsung QN90C is an excellent TV for most uses. It's excellent for watching movies or gaming in a dark room, thanks to its high contrast ratio. It's also a great choice for a bright room, thanks to its high peak brightness and superb reflection handling, so glare isn't an issue when watching TV shows or sports during the day. It has a decent viewing angle, so you can walk around with the TV on or watch something with a group of people without worrying about the image fading from the sides. Finally, it's amazing for gaming thanks to its low input lag, quick response time, and an impressive selection of gaming features.
It doesn’t matter how much technology you cram into a television if it doesn’t result in great performance, of course - but when it does, everybody’s happy. And with the Samsung QE55QN90C, not only does it wow you with its picture quality, it looks the absolute business as an object when it’s in your home, too. For once, here’s a flatscreen TV that is, to all intents and purposes, flat. And thanks to a specification that’s out of all proportion to its asking price, it brings more than a hint of the high end into the mainstream.
Impressive brightness. Luscious and natural colors. Excellent black levels and contrast. Solid shadow detail, especially for SDR content. Powerful picture processing for pristine detail and good upscaling. Dashing design. Loaded feature set with Samsung’s fantastic gaming hub. Intuitive solar-powered remote. Great onboard sound.

While the Samsung QN90C maintains the excellent strengths of the QN90B it replaces, it also keeps many of the same weaknesses.
