Samsung knocked it out with sound quality, picture quality including the glare-free layer, and its gaming features. Right now, I think Samsung is second-to-none when it comes to TVs and their gaming features.

When I first got it, it had an amazing picture. Now, I wasn't really into picture quality and like the stuff like I am now. You know what I'm saying? Like now, I feel like I'm kind of becoming a bit of a snob when it comes to picture quality. But that TV still looked great to me, man. And I think it still looks great because we moved it up into the guest bedroom and that's where it lives now.

The Samsung QN90F stands out with a svelte matte finish and Mini-LED backlighting, offering some of the best bright room performance I’ve seen all year. It also sports excellent contrast control, with incredible black levels in darker content. However, its brightness and color volume metrics don’t match those of major competitors, making its high sticker price an issue.

The Samsung QN90F offers a very good overall package in terms of connectivity, smart features and slim design, but above all impressive picture quality.

The Samsung QN90F is a very good TV overall, as it excels in most contexts. It's extremely bright in SDR, and it handles reflections amazingly well, making it suitable for very bright rooms when watching sports or shows. Sadly, the TV's colors look a bit more washed out in bright rooms, and it's already not very colorful in SDR. Thankfully, it's extremely bright and colorful in HDR, with very good black levels, which also makes it a very good option in reference conditions, as highlights pop next to the TV's very deep blacks. Unfortunately, the TV's black levels suffer in Game Mode, with noticeably slower zone transitions, which offsets the TV's otherwise responsive Game Mode performance.

Now, combine that absolutely mental brightness with that matte display. Just a wicked combination. And that is the beauty of miniLEDD TVs. They can go very bright indeed with no risk of burning like you get with OLED TVs. So, once again, if you've got a bright room, I think this could definitely be on your short list.

The Samsung QN90F delivers even better picture quality than its QN90D predecessor, and is a great all-around TV for movies, sports, and, of course, gaming. Samsung’s Glare-Free screen tech lets you watch in bright rooms without any performance compromises, and the Wide Viewing Angle feature ensures that pictures look uniformly good from a range of seating positions. The TV’s built-in 4.2.2-channel sound system is solid, and there are special processing modes to enhance dialogue. While it’s pricey compared to the mini-LED TV competition, the QN90F’s combination of performance, features, and design helps it stand out from the crowd. It's the new mini-LED TV to beat for 2025.

The Samsung QN90F had two jobs: improve on Samsung’s previous multi-award winning premium mini LED TVs, and continue to make a premium LCD range feel like a compelling, brightness-led alternative to OLED technology.
