The Samsung S90F offers incredible picture performance for HDR movies, gaming, sports, and so much more. With its wide viewing angles and brilliant contrasts, it’s a stellar mid-range OLED TV that punches well above its value sticker price. However, it does skimp on Dolby Vision support, an ATSC 3.0 tuner, and features a lackluster speaker system.
Samsung's new 2025 S90F is a major upgrade over the S90D bringing higher brightness, better color, new AI features, an improved Tizen OS, and sticks with a glossy coating for exceptional clarity. That said, the S90F still struggles with ambient light like all QD OLEDs, leading to lower contrast in bright rooms and Samsung has a few accuracy and brightness issues in game mode. Despite Its flaws the S90F would be my top QD OLED choice in 2025.
For those seeking a premium OLED TV experience without a flagship price tag, the 65-inch Samsung S90F is clearly an outstanding choice. Its imagery is top-tier, its gaming capabilities are cutting-edge, and its smart features are more refined than ever. While cinephiles should still look to an external audio upgrade – the set is fully compatible with Samsung's Q-Symphony soundbars – and Dolby Vision fans may feel miffed by its snub, the sheer quality of this display more than makes up for such shortcomings. Just remember that all this enthusiasm is focused on the 65-inch model. Samsung's predilection for panel obfuscation means its sibling models must stand on their own two (slot-in) feet.
The Samsung S90F truly shines in a dark, cinema-like setup. Its OLED panel delivers inky blacks with zero blooming, while colors stay vibrant and rich, while being virtually free of banding. HDR highlights really pop thanks to the TV's robust peak brightness, and the set's processing delivers strong HDR brightness accuracy and upscaling. Low-quality content smoothing in low-bitrate streams is less convincing, sometimes leaving compression artifacts behind, and the panel's lightning-fast response can introduce mild stutter in slow-panning film and TV scenes. Overall, this is a standout home theater TV.

OLED screens tend to offer both excellent uniformity and off-angle performance, and the S90F, like the other OLED TVs that flanked it, had excellent uniformity, and colors stayed vivid while viewing off-axis.
The TV's black levels are perfect in a dark room but slightly compromised in a brighter space, and the Tizen OS isn't my favorite smart TV interface. But those strikes are small compared to the S90F's many strengths.
The Samsung S90F is a splendid television where picture quality is concerned. It’s bright, detailed, handles motion well, serves up convincing contrasts and is a superb example of what an OLED TV can do. Its smart TV interface is good, it’s a fine option for gamers, and its sound isn’t actively offensive (which puts it ahead of any number of nominal rivals) – although adding a soundbar will always be an improvement. When it further drops in price that 5-star rating will be even more qualified than it is on launch day, too.
If you absolutely have to have a Samsung S90F right this minute, you’ll be buying a TV with a whole lot of talent that’ll keep you entertained for ages – but you’ll be paying more than you have to
The S90F’s talents are as effective for gaming as they are for video, and while the sound quality isn’t as outright spectacular as their pictures, the object tracking sound system is seriously impressive. All the S90F’s strengths and improvements are delivered, too, at no extra cost over last year’s S90D .

The Samsung 65S90F delivers much of the performance of Samsung’s flagship OLED TV for far less money, making it a true 2025 TV hero.
