This series greatly improves Quantum-OLED tech's brightness game. It has an excellent reflection-reducing screen that sets it apart from other Quantum OLEDs we've seen. It's worth the extra cost over a 2023 S95C close-out. But you will likely find a better deal if you wait for key sales events later in the year
While TVs get updated every year, and most upgrades tend to be modest, the Samsung S95D OLED TV is a different story. It brings some real improvements over its predecessor, thanks to its brightness, clarity, and a new screen design. Although the anti-glare screen might not immediately appeal to all viewers, its effectiveness in reducing glare and boosting the TV's adaptability across various lighting conditions makes it a feature worth considering. These improvements have rightfully earned the Samsung S95D the AVS Top Choice award for 2024.
Putting the lack of Dolby Vision support to one side, which will be an issue for some TV buyers and enthusiasts, the HDR10 and HDR10+ performance of the Samsung S95D is excellent. Blacks are deep and fluid with excellent shadow detail retrieval along with mid tones that pop with detail and depth that give almost every scene scale and texture that adds to the realism on offer. Edges can look a little processed and digital at times, but this doesn't take away from the cinematic look too much.
This exceptional high-end TV is the brightest OLED we’ve ever tested. It features a new matte screen that nearly eliminates reflections, making it an ideal pick for bright rooms. However, the matte design does give black levels a somewhat faded look in direct light.
The Samsung S95D is, if you’ll pardon the pun, a quantum leap forward in OLED performance. The increased brightness, wider colours and improved tone mapping deliver some of the best HDR we’ve ever seen, and when combined with class-leading processing and exceptional image accuracy, the result is a superb 4K display that delivers an almost complete premium TV package.

The Samsung S95D has the fantastic contrast and color that OLED TVs typically offer, along with light output that rivals many high-end LED models.
