The entire 2025 Samsung TV lineup has been nothing short of spectacular. The last few years were great as well, but in 2025 Samsung has brought some remarkable improvements and designs. The Samsung S95F OLED is razor-thin, comes with the One Connect Box, Anti-Glare OLED technology, the benefits of OLED technology, a new and improved user interface and user experience, and is packed full of goodies that will elevate your home theater experience to the moon.
Samsung's new 2025 S95F QD OLED is a major upgrade over the S95D bringing much higher brightness, better color, smoother motion, new AI features, an improved Tizen OS..
If you take one thing away from this Samsung S95F review, let it be this: This is an incredible TV. Its high brightness means that HDR content looks stunning, and SDR content is easy to see even in brighter environments. Plus, it has a beautiful design and helpful gaming features.
The Samsung S95F is an amazing TV for any usage. It's a fantastic choice for a bright room thanks to its high peak brightness, and distracting glare from lights or windows is a thing of the past thanks to its matte anti-reflective coating. HDR content looks better than ever thanks to its incredibly colorful screen and perfect contrast. It's also a dream machine for gaming, with a nearly instantaneous response time, low input lag, support for VRR, and for PC gamers, a 165Hz refresh rate. It also has an incredibly wide selection of smart features, so you spend less time navigating through menus and more time watching your favorite content.
Samsung's S95F OLED TV boasts exceptional picture quality, an ultra-thin design, a game-changing anti-glare display that's significantly brighter than last year's model, and easy-to-use AI features. Users will also appreciate that Samsung's One Connect Box continues to make cable management a cinch. However, the TV's AI image tweaking can alter the filmmakers' original vision, and Samsung still refuses to offer Dolby Vision support.
At first glance, Samsung's S95F might look nearly identical to last year's model, but don't be fooled. It’s definitely not the same TV with just a minor refresh. The noticeable improvements in brightness and overall picture clarity give this year's model a real edge, especially for movie-watching. Despite still not including Dolby Vision, the improved brightness and detail make HDR content really stand out even more than before.
The Samsung S95F OLED is a remarkable TV and showcases how you can create a truly amazing experience when you combine outstanding screen technology and picture quality with performance, AI and design.
The LG G5 is probably the closest competitor to the S95F and the big deal this year is the new Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel which promises much better colour volume performance from the WOLED technology used by LGD. The G5 has slightly brighter peak brightness in smaller window sizes but doesn’t quite reach the same full-screen brightness as the S95F, plus, colour volume is improved, but it still can’t reach the heights of QD OLED in overall volume and brightness. But the G5 does prove to be an exceptional performer with video processing and upscaling that is just that little better overall. Plus, for the box tickers, you have Dolby Vision support and a smart TV system that features 4K Dolby Vision playback, along with HDR images that are sharp, detailed and incredibly colourful with exceptional peak highlight details.
I compared the Samsung against its biggest competitor, the LG G5, as well as a more affordable mini-LED LCD -- the Hisense U8QG -- and last year's Samsung S95D in a dark, theater-like environment. While there were differences in color saturation between the Samsung and LG, I found that in these tests the two TVs were pretty evenly matched.
The strengths of Samsung's QD-OLED display technology are undeniable, and S95F builds on the success of previous models, standing out as one of the brightest OLED panels we have tested. If you already own S95C, you can safely skip this year's model, as the differences are minor, but coming from older TVs, it is a good upgrade.
The S95F is undoubtedly the best Samsung OLED TV for a number of reasons. The picture quality is second to none, the brightness is remarkable, and the glare-free coating does wonders for the viewing experience. The AI features are on point, and they don't feel like Samsung added them just for the sake of slapping the AI label on this TV. AI upscaling works very well and with a plethora of features aimed at gamers, even the most serious of gamers are going to have a good time with the S95F.
The S95F's jump in HDR brightness is nothing to scoff at, but is it worth an extra $1,000 over last year's model? Well, that depends on what kind of buyer you are. If you're an AV enthusiast with deep pockets, I'd argue the answer is yes. After all, the S95 series is Samsung's flagship offering geared toward those willing to pay top dollar for top picture quality. In that context, the S95F is undoubtedly the better TV.
It should come as no surprise that the new flagship TV from one of the most formidable tech brands on the planet is an outstanding piece of kit. It looks spectacular while displaying a wide range of content, boasts an extremely refined design (how much further can these things go?), and feels like it was designed specifically for well-lit Australian homes.
The Samsung S95F is a fantastic OLED TV that delivers exceptional picture quality, particularly with its brightness and color, while also eliminating mirror-like reflections in bright rooms with its OLED Glare Free 2.0 screen. It's also excellent for gaming, looks physically stunning, and even delivers solid sound. Its AI tools may not be for everyone, black levels may be a little flawed compared to the LG G5, and it does carry a premium price, but the S95F is nonetheless an outstanding TV.
If you're willing to pay for best-of-best and want a gaming and home-cinema powerhouse, look no further. The Samsung S95F delivers pure class thanks to picture modes that rival classic OLED with great nuance to their black levels. Let the unrivalled brightness levels loose, however, and for gaming sessions and other dynamic content, the punch from its images has serious clout. Sure, there's no Dolby Vision HDR, and the AI mode can be heavy-handed. But now I've lived with the S95F as my own, I feel it's the perfect blend of design elegance, deft picture control, and admirable sound output. It's an untouchable all-rounder.
The S95F’s out-of-the-box performance with HDR games is initially a little disappointing. Brightness is pushed to the point where the brightest areas can start to look bleached of detail, and the default dynamic tone mapping system causes the picture to keep dimming and brightening as you run around any game environment that contains a mix of light and shade.
As well as being even brighter and more colourful than its predecessor, Samsung’s latest QD OLED flagship puts these new capabilities to much more consistently awesome and immersive use.
