At the risk of beating a dead horse, the Sennheiser HD 6XX represent an unbeatable value in the world of audiophile-grade headphones. Nothing even comes close to them for $200 or less. If you're looking for the best-sounding wired headphones in this price range, these are an easy recommendation.
For those of you are looking for a solid pair of open-back headphones that offer a balanced mid-range and natural bass reproduction while driving the headphones through a dedicated amplifier or sound interface then Massdrop's HD6XX model should be a stellar choice for your needs.
The HD 650 looks nearly the same. The main difference is the HD 6XX headband is deep blue and the HD 650's is dark gray. The sound producing parts are the same. They're virtual twins.
We, musicality lovers, are here to stay and there are much more than I thought that still are around. No, buyers like me do not personally want brutal, clinical and cold sounding products that relay the track as it was recorded.
The Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX gives you a taste of the audiophile life at a reasonable price but there are a few caveats that prevent them from becoming the all-around best open-back headphones you can buy. That said, however, they’re a cheap ticket to better-sounding music with well-balanced sound and exceptional clarity that are well-worth auditioning for your audio arsenal.
If you're looking for a set of headphones to stay by the computer, few offer a better price-to-performance ratio than the Drop x Sennheiser HD 6XX. Based on the design of the legendary Sennheiser HD 650, the HD 6XX is a steal at half the price.
They have a very neutral, balanced sound profile, so vocals and lead instruments are clear, present, and detailed. They have a decent passive soundstage, and their open-back design helps create an open and spacious soundstage. However, like most open-back headphones, they're lacking some low-bass.
The HD 6XX are a welcome and brilliantly executed second generation for one of Sennheiser’s best values, and a chance to nab easily accessible audiophile sound for a serious bargain.

If it wasn’t obvious by now, I do wholeheartedly recommend the HD6XX as the go-to in the line.
