Still, the Momentum True Wireless 4 are excellent earbuds that I have no problem recommending. But as you can probably sense, I was hoping for just a little more. Perhaps we'll get that down the road with a firmware upgrade or two. Or maybe we'll just have to wait for the Momentum True Wireless 5.

It’s too early to definitively say that Sennheiser got it right this time, but that’s what my gut’s been telling me while testing the Momentum True Wireless 4 earbuds. Their sound remains exceptional, the glitches and defects from previous models are nowhere to be seen, and they’re stuffed full of the very latest Bluetooth capabilities you’ll find in 2024.

The earbuds lack advanced Dolby or spatial audio support, which is common among rivals. The case is a little bigger than ideal, and they feel a touch overpriced. But the biggest downside is the lack of replaceable batteries or repair options, ultimately making them disposable and losing a star.

Although the Momentum True Wireless 4 might not look like the biggest upgrade from the Momentum 3 on the outside, it boasts a more premium wireless experience than ever before. This is thanks to new innovations in its Bluetooth tech, like Auracast and aptX Lossless. These features are bound to show up on a lot of true wireless earbuds in the future, and although the Momentum 4 isn’t the first to feature aptX Lossless, it will certainly help bring it to a consumer level.

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 earphones produce powerful, bass-forward audio and are very customizable, but they don't cancel noise as well as they should for the price.
