It is supremely comfortable, has great-looking materials, and has a premium, well-thought-out design. It sounds great in wireless mode, and the ANC is fantastic, easily on par with the titan Sony WH-1000XM5.

These well-built headphones have over 60 hours of continuous playback time, and their fit is comfortable enough for long days on the go. They also come with a sturdy hard carrying case to help protect the headphones when not in use. While they have an ANC system that can help block some background noise, they struggle to cut down the low rumble of bus and plane engines, which is a bit frustrating. They do a better job when it comes to passenger chit-chat, though.

If you're looking for a slightly more affordable set of ANC headphones in comparison to the Bose or Sony offerings: the Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 Wireless is not a bad way to go. While its ANC is technically behind the other top-tier headphones, its sound quality is ahead of the pack—as is its battery life. Not bad for $350 USD.

The Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless are a great option for anyone who doesn't mind paying a premium for high-end wireless audio; they sound utterly great. Battery life is also phenomenal at up to 60 hours per charge with ANC on. That ANC isn't particularly impressive, though — especially compared to similarly priced options from Bose or Sony.

The Momentum 4 is Sennheiser’s most complete set of headphones thus far. The company improved its ANC performance so it matches up better with the outstanding sound quality that was already a staple of the Momentum line. Conveniences like Sidetone, automatic pausing and Sound Zones make your life easier, but besides stellar audio, the main attraction here is the battery life. Sennheiser has doubled up much of the competition there and, perhaps even more impressively, has managed to do so while keeping noise cancellation active. The design is what it is, but everything else combines for a worthy contender.

If you’re a Sennheiser fan, or if you just place audio performance at the top of your list, the Momentum 4 Wireless are a tempting option. While they’ve still got a few features that could use retooling, we’ve already seen two firmware updates in less than a week, so you can bet Sennheiser will likely continue to tune them in the coming months to make them even better.

I feel as though I’m at somewhat of a crossroads with the Momentum 4 because there are many qualities that I really appreciate about it when compared to the Momentum 3, such as the enhanced portability and comfort, and the slightly more spacious soundstage, but at the same time there are areas where I feel as though the new model actually falls short of its predecessor, with the two specific things that come to mind being the weaker noise isolation, and less neutral-sounding tuning. Those things being considered, though, my recommendation would be as follows:

So yeah, it’s an ambivalent headset, that seems a little too undercooked, but if sound and comfort are your main buying point, you can’t go wrong with this one. Just be prepared to wait for the OTA update on your phone.

The Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless are a seriously good set of wireless over-ear headphones, offering excellent active noise-cancellation, a suite of impressive features plus excellent sound and call quality. They’re also light and comfortable – and the 60-hour battery is just another way in which they’re unbeatable at the level.
