This third generation is the most competitive Momentum True Wireless yet — but that’s not to say there’s no competition…

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 are some of the best wireless earbuds on the market. The price is lower than previous generations, but it's still expensive. That said, what you get here is well worth your money if you're looking for a premium pair of true wireless headphones.

Sound is very good, comfort is impressive, and the extensive battery life makes them the perfect solution on the go. Add to that effective noise-canceling, adaptive apX, plus a comprehensive app, and you get a solid alternative to the classic AirPods Pro or the Gemini.

They are some of the best-sounding Bluetooth earbuds you can get, have good noise cancelling, great controls, good battery life and support for the latest aptX Adaptive audio format. Despite still being at the premium end of the market costing £220, they are more competitive thanks to a price cut over their predecessors, too.

As I said, they're pretty pricey. But they're an excellent set of earbuds for both iOS and Android users and will hopefully improve a bit with firmware upgrades. I do think they face a lot of competition -- there are now several premium earbuds in this price range that sound impressive and perform well, including the $200 Beats Fit Pro. And we could get new AirPods Pro 2 with upgraded sound later this year. But as of this moment, they're definitely among my favorite new earbuds and are worthy of strong consideration, especially if you see their price dip a bit.

Sennheiser proves that you can pack great sound and active noise cancelling (ANC) into a sturdy built set of earbuds, but at a price. This latest flagship, the MOMENTUM True Wireless 3, is pretty much capable of meeting or exceeding expectations for most tasks you throw at it.

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 are an excellent pair of earbuds with superbly clean sound and a sophisticated design to match. They may have a few small flaws like the lack of multipoint pairing but they're also super comfortable, the app is easy to use and you can manually adjust the sound.

They have an adaptive ANC system, which does an excellent job of blocking background noise like the low rumble of bus engines and passenger chit-chat. Their continuous battery life also lasts over eight hours, and their carrying case supplies an additional three charges if you need them. They're well-built and have a decently comfortable fit, suitable for long trips.

If the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3s did have multipoint, I’d consider them a home run and recommend an upgrade for fans of the company’s past buds. But even as they are, Sennheiser has done a good job of upping their value while lowering the sticker price. The noise cancellation is better, you now get wireless charging, and they still sound splendid. Even if battery life is the same and call quality is merely fine, the overall package is more compelling than Sennheiser’s past premium efforts. They don’t quite unseat the Sony 1000XM4s as my favorite earbuds; I’ll take the better noise cancellation, foam ear tips, and warmer sound profile of Sony’s buds. But maybe that’s just what I’m used to now. Sennheiser’s right up there with the very best in audio quality — and for $50 less than last time.

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 aren’t the best noise-cancelling earbuds – that would be Bose. They’re not the best-sounding earbuds, either – that would be Sony. However, they are one of the most fun and accessible-sounding premium buds on the market.

More affordable than before, more elegant than before, smaller than before… these are all good things, and consequently they make the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 altogether more competitive than the model they replace.
