The user interface of the S6700 is all apps based and very easy to use. There’s access to all the most popular video streaming services, including YouTube, Netflix, Amazon and BBC iPlayer with the BDP-S6700 able to output proper film cadences from them, when required.

The design could be better, but otherwise the BDP-S6700 is a terrific Blu-ray deck with generous features, impressive pictures and a fast, user-friendly operating system.

Selling for a fraction of the price of Ultra HD Blu-ray players, this polished deck slashes support for that new format and instead offers to upscale your 'old' Blu-rays to 4K quality. Souped-up Bluetooth wireless music streaming worked well, but it doesn't play nice with iOS devices.

The Sony BDP-S6700 is still a good Blu-ray player for its image quality and ease of use. An impressive list of features and attractive design only contribute further to what is an exceptional all round package.
