    I thought I had tested the ultimate Sony TV when I had a chance to review the Sony Bravia 9 mini-LED, but the new mid-range Sony Bravia 7 II True RGB TV not only matches, but in key ways exceeds that model, specifically its P3 and BT.2020 color gamut coverage.

    The Sony Bravia 7 II takes a big shot at some of the best OLED TVs like the LG C6 thanks to its HDR performance and new RGB backlight technology, but a premium price might make it a hard sell.

    If you’re totally against OLED, then the Bravia 7 II is probably one of the best backlit TVs we’ve tested, but for most people, the performance doesn’t quite feel representative of the price tag.

    To put it in F1 terms, it makes this TV a midfield contender, and Sony isn't known for running in the midfield.
