The Sony BRAVIA Projector 7 delivers nearly everything a home theater enthusiast could want in a premium projector, including 4K resolution, accurate colors, and deep blacks in a fairly compact package. In my media room on my 120" screen, I thought the image quality of BRAVIA Projector 7 was outstanding.
The addition of the XR processor brings with it dynamic tone mapping and the overall processing improvements we’ve seen on Sony’s higher-end models. The inclusion of HDMI 2.1 with 4K at 120Hz support and low input lag makes it a great choice for gaming setups as well.
The Bravia Projector 7 commands a high price, but it does so with a jaw-dropping image. Its color could be richer, but I’ve never seen such impressive black levels from a projector. The picture here is so good, you’ll need to tailor your theater around it to maximize performance; otherwise, you’ll be wasting your money.
My conclusion is that if someone wants a projector capable of delivering reference-level images for a competitive price point and can control their room’s lighting—it’s a no brainer to choose Sony’s new BRAVIA Projector 7.
