In terms of picture quality, I feel only the LG C1 and G1 OLED TVs, the Sony A90, or the Samsung Q900R can hold a candle to the Z9J, and for a variety of different reasons. Sadly, though, the blanket answer to this question is yes, because the price of this TV is impossible to justify.

Sony’s Z9J is a great 8K UHD TV, and it’s one best-sounding TVs on the market. But its upscaling isn’t as good as the competition, and its current absence of support for 8K video files and 8K YouTube streams is puzzling.

Few proposals on the market will bring us closer to the real world than the Sony Z9J . Who can afford it, because the cost of this superb product is not within the reach of ordinary mortals. And it is that the revolutionary technology of this television gives it a supreme realism , thanks to its intelligence systems . Only a device like this, that you understand how we see and hear, is able to provide the ultimate experience that immerses us in every scene with fullness .

Sony is known for putting extra effort into its top models, and the Z9J is no disappointment: The image quality is masterful, with nuanced color reproduction and captivating detail. The Sony screen is also a real light cannon, capable of making HDR content look really lively! On the other hand, it disappoints us a bit that Sony (still) has not been able to support YouTube video in 8K resolution.

It's a great TV for watching movies in both SDR and HDR, as it's bright and has good contrast. It's bright enough to overcome glare, and it has surprisingly fair viewing angles, making it a very good choice for watching sports. Gamers will appreciate its low input lag, great response time, HDMI 2.1 support, and has variable refresh rate (VRR) support, but it doesn't support FreeSync.

We consider the Sony BRAVIA XR-75Z9J to be an aspirational television for most people, and at the very least, it is worth getting to an A/V store to see one up close. We realize not many will be prepared to shell out nearly $6,500 at the time this was posted, but for anyone desiring the best in what the state-of-the-art has to offer, this might be what you’re after. We caution shoppers not to go into this looking for the difference this set will make in resolution sharpness and detail, but rather for the realism the set can produce from the right material in color, brightness and contrast between dark shadows and brilliant whites and yellows. For most gaming this set is much more than capable, but for movies and television programs this is one of the best televisions you’ll find for either dark or somewhat well-lit environments
