The PB-1000 Pro is a great subwoofer. It is a worthy companion of the new SB-1000 Pro and a significant upgrade in capability over the PB-1000 it replaces. So much so, that deciding between the PB-1000 Pro and PB-2000 Pro could be difficult. While it represents the entry to the SVS ported sub lineup, it is no entry-level sub and offers a complete, satisfying listening experience when operating within its performance envelope.
I really like the PB-1000 Pro, SVS builds great subwoofers and this is their entry-level ported sub and it could be your last subwoofer. This is not a subwoofer you are going to feel the need to upgrade right away, granted you may want to add a second, as we found with the 3000 Micro review, 2 can really help with difficult rooms, or just adding in more impact in a theater. I think my favorite part of the PB-1000 Pro is how well it plays at lower volumes, as I mentioned I. am not a loud listener, sometimes I like to turn it up like when a composer decides canons would go great with his music, so having a sub that will still fill in those lower frequencies effortlessly and without having to turn up the sub to where it takes over the room is a really nice touch.
Quality, features, and performance, at a sweet price, make this subwoofer a great buy. An outstanding warranty and caring service make it an even better one! Recommended!
At its original price, the PB-1000 Pro was almost too good to be true. At its new price, it’s still a heck of a value, especially if you’re looking for a good ported sub that’s equally up to the task of delivering foundation-shaking low-frequency effects and the nuances of musical midbass. Honestly, my only real beef with the sub is its plain-Jane Black Ash finish. I understand that extra finish options would raise the price of the sub even more, but I think it has the performance chops to justify it.
SVS offers all of this performance along with their innovative amp interface and app control. Here are some five to six hundred dollars subs with extensive fine-tuning abilities that can be done from your sofa. As was mentioned before, a three-band PEQ alleviates the need to buy an external equalizer to combat room modes; all you need to do is measure the sub in-room to see what frequencies need to be cut.
