Don’t be fooled by the Samsung HW-Q800C’s unassuming looks. Inside that all that angular grey plastic resides a phenomenally powerful multi-channel speaker system capable of unlocking the joys of a good movie soundtrack more effectively than arguably any other soundbar in its class. Plus you can add optional rears if you want to crank up the immersion even more
In our reviews of Samsung miniLED LCD TVs ("Neo QLED") we've concluded that for them to compete with OLED TVs' picture quality the number of LED zones must be dramatically increased or the miniLED LCD TVs must be cheaper than a comparable 4K OLED TV. TCL delivers in spades on that as C845 costs between half and a third compared to one of Samsung's high-end 4K LCD TVs despite still having 576 dimming zones for acceptable HDR and high brightness.
While it's possible to find Mini LED TVs that perform better than the TCL 65C845K, those premium rivals will cost you not just hundreds but thousands of pounds more. Pound for pound, the 65C845K punches so far above its weight it’s actually quite hard to believe, making it not just the TV bargain of the year so far, but also gives the more established TV brands something to think about.
TCL’s improved mini QLED LCD VA panel is a very pleasant experience, and even more so considering the price. This is a really balanced TV with 576 adjustment zones, very good light control and very good increased brightness. Probably the best MiniLED with QLED technology of 2023 in terms of value for money. This is a great job from a Chinese brand that we hope will continue on this path.

With its extreme brightness and huge dimming zone count, the C845K has no right costing as little as it does
