The Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 is one of the higher-tier models in the VisionMaster lifestyle projector lineup, offered by AWOL’s sister company, Valerion. Generating significant buzz and excitement in the projection market, Valerion has crafted an impressive unit that stands out. It delivers a lot of performance at an excellent price, thanks to the inclusion of rare and generally well-performing features for a projector in this class and price range. This outstanding price-to-performance ratio makes it easy to see why the Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 has garnered so much enthusiasm.

Considering it is one of Valerion’s first Projectors, it is impressive that the VisionMaster Pro2 delivered class-leading picture quality and its bug-free operating system. You can tell that Valerion utilized the latest video processing, Google operating system, and hardware to build the VisionMaster Pro2, which is why its performance is superior to most of the lifestyle projectors on the market today. For hard-core gamers, its input lag is an incredibly low 4 ms when playing HD content at 240 frames per second.

A projector with 2,790 ANSI lumens (calibrated), unmatched dark scenes performance for a DLP projector, official Google TV at its finest, Dolby Vision, HDR tone mapping, whisper-quiet operation, low operating temperatures, low input lag, amazing MEMC, true 24&48 frames reproduction, a lens with a throw ratio of 0.9 to 1.5:1 for effortless installation, and remarkably good built-in sound—all for $2,099 (while it’s still available on Kickstarter). I don’t think Pro 2 has any real competition in this price range.

While I wouldn’t compare it to the top brands, the Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 performs well and offers solid value for its price. At its MSRP of $3,499—and especially at the Kickstarter price of $2,099—the Pro 2 represents a step in the right direction for DLP projectors. It brings notable brightness and contrast, delivering vibrant visuals that hold their own in a range of lighting conditions. The projector’s ability to handle both dark scenes and bright highlights makes it versatile for movies, gaming, and general use, all while maintaining clarity and color depth that exceed typical expectations at this price point. For that reason, I’m glad to give it an AVS Top Choice for 2024. If this is just the beginning of Valerion’s journey into projectors, it's a strong start, and I’m looking forward to seeing what they bring next.

For what (and how) Valerion markets the VisionMaster Pro 2 as being, its stability-challenged color reproduction, as detailed in the review, for me, puts a damper on its finer attributes and aspirations. Its hang tag price is nearly double the amount required of consumers who might otherwise pause and ponder a casual lifestyle projector purchase from competitors. Feature-laden, the Pro 2 is equally burdened by placement limitations that all ambitious lifestyle projector designs impose on logical, seamless home theater integration. The demerit trifecta of color channel instability, installation peculiarity, and DOGE-defying pricing tangibly undermines the VisionMaster Pro 2's attempt at becoming the all-things-to-all-people projector its marketing and third-party hype suggest it is.
