The Westone Audio MACH 70 is an absolute joy to wear and it is definitely not a boring IEM with strong technicalities and deep, immersive bass. Westone Audio could have named it a bassy version or something but they don’t, somehow justified by the strong performance in the upper register that isn’t covered by the bass lift.

When it comes to the sound signature, the MACH 70 is a delight. Its soundstage is super wide, and its frequency response is highly accurate with tons of detail in the lows, mids, and highs. While its design isn’t all too impressive for the price and the fit has some issues for me personally, the sound easily won me over to the point where It didn’t bother me as much. I welcome this new MACH series as a great change for Westone, and I’m looking forward to listening to the other models in this line.

In sonic terms the Mach 70 have plenty to recommend them, even if some additional low frequency wouldn’t go amiss. As objects, though, they don’t remotely live up to the asking price.

Mach 70 is a unique IEM set aimed at a wider audience. With its all-rounder construction, smooth presentation, and incredibly comfortable chassis, it can be the go-to headphones for many audiophiles.
