For almost 20 years, I've covered streaming music, and the WiiM Pro is the best budget player I've tested since the Chromecast Audio.

The WiiM Pro is the best way for most people to stream audio to their home audio systems and can be a solid foundation for a multi-room audio system.

Incredibly affordable and easy to use, it's a Sonos clone for audiophiles.

For more than a few people, the extraordinary WiiM Mini will be all they ever need. The Pro feels the squeeze against it but the slicker operation and useful hike to sound quality will win it some friends. The Pro+ is a different beast though; a formidable streaming front end at a rock bottom price and an absolute star.

If you don't need the WiiM Pro's Chromecast functionality and could get by with aux as the only wired input and output, WiiM's other streamer, the WiiM Mini, might be a better option.

Despite a few downsides, the WiiM Pro is one of the most versatile streaming add-ons I've encountered so far.

What WiiM has done is impressive, but it is not complicated.
