Even at ten times the price this unassuming but sleek-looking little plastic box would have earned a high score.

For more than a few people, the extraordinary Wiim Mini will be all they ever need. The Pro feels the squeeze against it but the slicker operation and useful hike to sound quality will win it some friends. The Pro+ is a different beast though; a formidable streaming front end at a rock bottom price and an absolute star.

The WiiM Pro Plus music streamer has a lot to recommend it. As a way to bring proper high-resolution digital audio streaming smarts to an existing system, it's without peer at the price. True, other brands can do a similar job, sometimes in even greater style, but inevitably there's a higher outlay required.
