SVS 3000 R|Evolution Subwoofers with MOSFET amps Debut at CES 2026

SVS returned to CES 2026 with a clear message: serious low-frequency performance is still very much at the core of the brand. While much of the attention around the booth centered on new categories and immersive demos, the most consequential announcement for long-time SVS fans was the introduction of the 3000 R|Evolution Series subwoofers—a new generation designed to bring flagship-level engineering into a more attainable form factor.

I was able to see the new subwoofers on the CES show floor, though I didn’t get the opportunity to hear them in a controlled listening environment. That said, given SVS’s long-standing reputation in the subwoofer category, expectations are understandably high. If these models perform anything like the company’s previous 3000-series or draw effectively from the flagship 17-Ultra R|Evolution platform, they could become some of the most compelling subwoofers in their class once reviews land.

A New Chapter Built on Familiar Foundations

The 3000 R|Evolution Series builds directly on the engineering work introduced with the 17-Ultra R|Evolution subwoofers—models that helped redefine what was possible in terms of output, control, and deep-bass extension at the top end of SVS’s lineup. The goal here is not reinvention, but refinement and accessibility: delivering reference-grade low-frequency performance in cabinets and price points that fit more real-world rooms.

SVS is positioning these subwoofers not as lifestyle add-ons, but as serious tools for music, home theater, and gaming systems that demand both depth and precision. The emphasis remains on extension, dynamic headroom, and control—bass that can hit hard when needed, but stay composed, articulate, and tuneful across a wide range of content.

Two Models, Two Approaches

At launch, the 3000 R|Evolution Series consists of two models, each optimized for different listening priorities while sharing a common technology platform.

SB-3000 R|Evolution (Sealed Cabinet)
The sealed SB-3000 R|Evolution is designed for listeners who value tight, accurate bass and compact cabinet integration. SVS claims low-frequency extension down to 17 Hz (±3 dB), which is impressive for a sealed design in this size class. This model is clearly aimed at music-focused systems, smaller rooms, or setups where transient response and precision matter more than maximum output.

PB-3000 R|Evolution (Ported Cabinet)
The PB-3000 R|Evolution takes a more cinematic approach. With a larger cabinet and ported design, it’s engineered to deliver higher output and room-pressurizing impact, extending down to 16 Hz (±3 dB). Multiple port-tuning modes allow users to tailor performance based on room size and listening preferences, making it a flexible option for dedicated home theater environments.

Shared Technology Platform

Both subwoofers are built around the same core hardware and processing architecture, starting with a high-excursion 13-inch SVS driver. The driver uses a flat-edge wound, split-wind voice coil designed to maintain magnetic force and linearity even at extreme excursion levels—critical for keeping distortion in check at high output.

Powering the system is a Class-D amplifier rated at 1,200 watts continuous with over 4,000 watts peak output, featuring a discrete MOSFET output stage. This design prioritizes current delivery and control, ensuring the driver remains tightly managed even during demanding low-frequency passages.

On the processing side, SVS employs a 295 MHz Analog Devices DSP, which continuously monitors power delivery, thermal conditions, and driver behavior in real time. This level of DSP oversight is essential for balancing performance and reliability, especially in compact enclosures tasked with producing deep bass.

A switch-mode power supply rounds out the system, maintaining stable voltage and conditioning incoming AC power to ensure consistent performance under varying electrical conditions.

Control, Integration, and Room Correction

As expected, both subwoofers integrate with the SVS Subwoofer Control App, which allows users to manage volume, crossover, phase, presets, and advanced settings directly from a mobile device. This app-based approach has become a hallmark of SVS products and continues to be one of the most user-friendly implementations in the category.

SVS has also confirmed that Auto Room EQ is coming to the 3000 R|Evolution Series via firmware update in Q1 2026. Once enabled, this feature will apply precision EQ filters tailored to the listener’s room, helping smooth in-room response without requiring external calibration tools.

Pricing and Availability

SVS has not yet announced final pricing for the 3000 R|Evolution Series. The company has stated that pricing details will be shared shortly, with shipping targeted for early Q1 2026.

Early Takeaway

While I wasn’t able to hear the 3000 R|Evolution subwoofers at CES, their design, specifications, and lineage suggest SVS is taking this release seriously. On paper, the combination of deep extension, high-current amplification, and advanced DSP control points to subwoofers that could punch well above their eventual price class.

As always, real judgment will come from measured performance and critical listening—but given SVS’s track record, the 3000 R|Evolution Series is shaping up to be one of the more important subwoofer launches heading into 2026.
