The ATH-CKS5TW's spec sheet puts them in the same area as the Cambridge Audio Melomania 1, which are cheaper and offer better balanced sound tonally. But, if you want a big sound with plenty of bass then the ATH-CKS5TW have it in spades – and at £149, they’re not hugely expensive. They just lack a killer feature to mark themselves out from their rivals
Perfectly pairing luscious sound quality with good battery life and an affordable price, the Audio Technica ATH-CKS5TW offers a new prosumer audio choice for Audio Technica fans the world over. At $149, this small earphone is big on sound and a great bargain.
The Audio-Technica ATH-CKS5TW ups the bass compared to the brand’s usual neutral sound, for a mix well suited to true-wireless earbuds. However, the fit may take some getting used to.
Audio-Technica's ATH-CKS5TW has stellar battery life and is affordably priced. The true wireless earbuds also have solid sound quality and reliable on-board controls.
The Audio-Technica ATH-CKS5TW does a lot right: an extremely long battery life, fast charging and good speech intelligibility on the receiver side. Other issues, such as the balance of the frequency spectrum, the handling or the lack of current additional functions such as noise-cancelling or transparency mode, are not solved so well. Therefore the ATH-CKS5TW are recommended especially for lovers of massive bass reproduction, because they will get their money’s worth! As an all-rounder, however, they are less suitable with this sound signature and therefore have a tough time competing with Apple’s de facto standard.
