The HT2060 is the follow-up to BenQ's highly successful and long-lived (over five years on the market) HT2050A. The HT2060 projector has big shoes to fill, and I'm happy to report it does an excellent job. The HT2060 keeps all the best features of the HT2050A, from brightness, DMD size, and weight, to name a few, and builds on them by offering a brand new 4LED light source to replace the previous model lamp. The addition of the 4LED light source offers several significant advancements.
When you consider the BenQ HT2060 LED Projector’s price of just $999, there really is nothing to complain about. It delivers a bright and sharp picture with accurate color right out of the box. It doesn’t need calibration and it has better contrast than any bulb-based compact DLP I’m aware of. You can watch all the latest formats because it accepts Ultra HD signals, and it works well for gaming with low input lag. It even supports 3D which is nearly impossible to find in flat panel TVs anymore. With built-in speakers, it can be a portable entertainment solution when paired with a streaming stick or box.
Between the three options, I'd pick the HT2060. On paper the HT2050A has some advantages, but overall the HT2060 just looks better. The incredible light output of the Epson has its place for sure, but if you're looking for all-around image quality, the BenQ HT2060's greater contrast outclasses the Epson.
The BenQ HT2060 is a thoroughly well rounded projector for the money. Brightness, color, contrast, clarity, and audio all come together in a system that’s flexible to meet users needs. At $999, that’s a powerful combination.
