Denon Unveils Affordable S Series AV Receivers with Cutting-Edge Gaming Features for PS5 and Xbox Series X

Denon has just announced its latest range of S Series AV receivers, aimed at bringing the latest gaming features to a more budget-friendly price point. These audio devices will be available in the US, UK, and Europe, starting at just $549/£549/€629. With two models for the US and three for the UK and Europe, the new S Series receivers all support pass-through of 4K/120Hz, variable refresh rates, and auto low latency mode switching game features over HDMI. This makes them ideal companions for the latest PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X gaming consoles, as well as PCs equipped with high-end graphics cards.

In addition to their gaming capabilities, all three S Series models offer support for 8K resolution sources at up to 60Hz frame rates through their HDMI ports. However, it's the gaming-related features that will undoubtedly be the main draw for most users. Furthermore, all S Series models feature HDMI loop-through support for both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision high dynamic range formats, ensuring the best picture quality regardless of the display brand.

Beyond their cutting-edge connectivity, Denon's S Series receivers impress with their audio power, providing 145W per channel. They also integrate Denon's HEOS system, allowing seamless music playback from popular services like Amazon Music HD, Spotify, Tidal, and TuneIn. Additionally, the receivers feature AirPlay and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as Bluetooth transmission to compatible headphones. Setting up the receivers is a breeze, thanks to Denon's award-winning Setup Assistant, which offers clear, step-by-step instructions via HD video.

The top-tier Denon AVR-S770H, priced at $649/£699/€779, boasts a 7.2-channel audio configuration, supporting Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for an immersive audio experience with overhead effects. The AVR-S670H, priced at $549/£599/€679, features a 5.2-channel setup and supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio decoder. Unfortunately, the entry-level AVC-S670H amp, not available in the US, shares the same specifications as the AVR-S670H but lacks an integrated FM tuner.

Denon has proven its expertise in handling high-bandwidth HDMIs, being one of the first brands to deliver 8K and 4K/120Hz-capable AV receivers back in 2020. Now, with the S Series, they continue to push the boundaries of gaming audio at an accessible price point.
