If there’s one lesson every audio enthusiast eventually learns, it’s this: the room has more impact on sound quality than almost any piece of gear. Speakers, amplifiers, and DACs matter—but without proper acoustic treatment, even the best systems are held back. That’s what makes Playback Distribution’s new partnership with Vicoustic particularly significant.

Playback Distribution has announced it will serve as the U.S. and Canadian distributor for Vicoustic, a global leader in high-performance, sustainably designed acoustic treatment and sound insulation solutions. The partnership expands Vicoustic’s North American presence across Hi-Fi, residential custom integration, and professional audio markets, while simplifying access to one of the most respected names in room acoustics.

Founded in Portugal in 2007, Vicoustic designs and manufactures all of its products in-house, backed by dedicated acoustic laboratories and a team of engineers and designers focused on real-world performance. Its portfolio spans acoustic panels, diffusers, bass traps, complete room kits, and custom solutions—products used everywhere from home listening rooms and theaters to commercial studios and corporate spaces.

“What sets Vicoustic apart is their relentless focus on research and testing,” said Rob Standley, President of Playback Distribution. “They design with both performance and sustainability in mind, and that aligns perfectly with where the market is heading.”

For Playback, the partnership fills a critical gap. Acoustic treatment is one of the most effective upgrades anyone can make, and Vicoustic’s products allow integrators, dealers, and enthusiasts to address room performance without sacrificing aesthetics or environmental responsibility.

Vicoustic products will debut under Playback at NAMM 2026, with inventory arriving in late January. With faster fulfillment, project-ready kits, and expanded North American support, this partnership makes high-quality room acoustics more accessible—and that’s good news for everyone who cares about sound.
