Beyerdynamic Launches 3 Wireless Headphones at IFA 2025

By: Dipin Sehdev

Beyerdynamic is back with a statement. Just a few months after its acquisition by Cosonic, the German audio specialist has made its first major announcement under new ownership, unveiling three new wireless headphone models at IFA 2025 in Berlin.

The launch lineup includes the Aventho 200 over-ear headphones with aptX Lossless and active noise cancellation, the Amiron 200 sports-focused open-ear earbuds, and the Amiron Zero, a sleek clip-on open-ear model designed for everyday listening.

These aren’t just incremental updates—they represent a renewed push to solidify Beyerdynamic’s presence in the competitive wireless audio space while staying true to the company’s long-standing tradition of German engineering, acoustic craftsmanship, and durability.

A New Era for Beyerdynamic

When news broke earlier this summer that Beyerdynamic had been acquired by Cosonic, fans of the century-old German brand were understandably cautious. Would this mean a shift away from its roots in professional studio and hi-fi gear?

If this launch is anything to go by, the answer is no. Instead, Beyerdynamic appears to be doubling down on its reputation, merging its acoustic expertise with modern wireless features like aptX Lossless, multipoint Bluetooth, IP54 durability ratings, and battery lives that outpace most competitors.

Borja Tena, Director of Products & Design at Beyerdynamic, put it plainly:

“Whether it’s frequent travellers, ambitious athletes, or style-conscious movers, we offer the right model for every audience in the proven high quality they expect from Beyerdynamic.”

Aventho 200: Affordable ANC Over-Ears With Lossless Audio

The headliner of the trio is the Aventho 200, a more affordable sibling to last year’s Aventho 300. At first glance, it looks like a streamlined version of its predecessor, but under the hood, it packs many of the same high-end features.

  • 45mm dynamic drivers deliver Beyerdynamic’s trademark detailed sound with strong bass and airy highs.

  • Active Noise Cancellation comes in two flavors: standard ANC for blocking noise and Transparency Mode for staying aware of surroundings.

  • aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless support ensure hi-res streaming over Bluetooth without the compression compromises of SBC or AAC.

Battery life is a standout feature—up to 63 hours with ANC off. That’s more than double what most premium competitors like the Bose QuietComfort Ultra or Sony WH-1000XM5 typically manage. Fast charging adds another layer of convenience, offering 16 hours of playback from just a 15-minute top-up.

Design-wise, the Aventho 200 keeps things practical and premium: replaceable earpads, a memory foam headband, and a foldable construction for travel. The cans weigh just 262g, making them light enough for long listening sessions. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.4, Google Fast Pair, and Multipoint pairing, letting you hop between phone, laptop, or tablet without hassle.

At £219 / €249 (about $295 / AU$450), the Aventho 200 delivers much of what the Aventho 300 offered—at a lower price point.

Amiron 200: Open-Ear Sports Buds With 36-Hour Battery Life

For active listeners, Beyerdynamic has introduced the Amiron 200, a pair of wireless sports earbuds with a secure over-ear hook design reminiscent of the Beats Powerbeats Pro. But unlike most in-ears, these are open earbuds, resting outside the ear canal to keep listeners aware of their surroundings.

That design choice has two benefits: it reduces ear fatigue and ensures environmental awareness, making them ideal for running outdoors or cycling in traffic.

Durability is also a focus. With an IP54 rating, the Amiron 200 can handle dust, sweat, and splashes—suitable for nearly any workout condition.

Battery life is another highlight: up to 36 hours total playback, with the earbuds themselves lasting 11 hours per charge. A 5-minute quick charge provides an extra 90 minutes of use, perfect for last-minute workouts.

Sound-wise, Beyerdynamic claims “exceptionally rich bass” tuned for movement and adrenaline-pumping workouts. While open-ear designs can sometimes lack low-end punch, the company’s custom dynamic drivers are designed to counteract that.

The Amiron 200 uses Bluetooth 5.3 for stable connections and supports multipoint pairing. The buds also feature dual microphones with noise suppression to keep calls clear even outdoors.

Available in Black, White, or Sport (Black/Orange) finishes, they’ll retail at £159 / €179 (about $214 / AU$326).

Amiron Zero: Lightweight Clip-On Earbuds for Everyday Use

Completing the trio is the Amiron Zero, Beyerdynamic’s first-ever clip-on open earbuds. Designed for style-conscious listeners, these earbuds weigh just 6 grams per side—making them some of the lightest open-ears available.

Like the Amiron 200, the Zero uses an open-ear clip design that rests outside the ear canal. This keeps you aware of conversations, traffic, or public announcements while still enjoying your music.

Battery life comes in at 20 hours, less than the Amiron 200 but still respectable for casual, everyday listening. A 10-minute quick charge adds an extra two hours of use.

Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.4, the latest standard for improved stability and efficiency. The IP54 rating ensures the buds are splash- and dust-resistant, while the design itself is discreet enough to blend into everyday wear.

The Amiron Zero is available in Black, White, and Sport finishes and will launch at £129 / €149 (about $174 / AU$265).

Final Thoughts

This new trio of wireless headphones is more than just another product cycle for Beyerdynamic. It’s the company’s first big statement under Cosonic ownership, and the message is clear: the brand isn’t abandoning its heritage—it’s expanding it.

With the Aventho 200, Beyerdynamic offers a compelling alternative to premium ANC headphones at a more approachable price. The Amiron 200 pushes into the sports segment with a thoughtful open-ear design and long-lasting battery, while the Amiron Zero taps into the growing appetite for lightweight, stylish, all-day open-ear listening.

For a brand that has long been revered for its studio headphones and audiophile gear, this expansion into more lifestyle-oriented wireless products shows a renewed strategy: bringing high-quality German engineering to more people, more use cases, and more price points.

In a market dominated by Apple, Sony, and Bose, Beyerdynamic is signaling that it’s ready to compete—not by copying, but by offering distinct, well-engineered alternatives.
