Esoteric has introduced the T-01 analog turntable, a new high-end vinyl platform that brings several technologies from the company’s flagship Grandioso T1 into a more compact and installation-friendly design. The headline feature is Esoteric’s patented MagneDrive System, a contactless magnetic drive architecture designed to isolate the platter from motor-borne vibration and rumble. Rather than using a belt or direct mechanical connection, the system uses magnetic induction to rotate the platter. A magnetic driver mounted above the motor uses alternating north and south poles to induce movement in a soft-iron wheel positioned around the lower section of the platter. Because the platter and motor never make direct physical contact, Esoteric says the system can deliver quieter rotation, better pitch stability, and cleaner low-frequency performance.
The company spent more than five years developing and commercializing MagneDrive before first introducing it in the Grandioso T1.
Magne-Float Reduces Effective Platter Mass
The T-01 also incorporates Magne-Float platter technology, which uses magnetic repulsion to reduce the effective load placed on the spindle bearing. The physical platter weighs a substantial 13kg, but Esoteric says Magne-Float reduces its effective mass to approximately 4kg during operation. The goal is to retain the rotational stability of a very heavy platter while significantly reducing bearing friction. The platter itself uses an inverted bearing architecture, while a dedicated Master Sound Discrete Clock motor driver controls rotational accuracy.
For owners already invested in Esoteric’s digital ecosystem, the T-01 also supports an external 10MHz master clock, including compatibility with the company’s G-01XD and G-05 clock generators. That is an unusual feature for an analog turntable and shows just how seriously Esoteric is approaching rotational precision.
Separate Power Supply and Serious Isolation
Esoteric has separated the power supply from the main turntable chassis to help minimize electrical and mechanical interference. The main chassis uses a triple-layer aluminum-and-MDF structure, including a high-gloss piano-lacquered middle section. Specialized isolation feet combine a spike, spike pad, and damping mechanism into a single structure designed to suppress vibration and acoustic feedback. The MagneDrive motor itself is housed inside what Esoteric calls a Vibration Absorber Case, further isolating it from the platter and chassis.
There is also no belt to wear out or replace, one of the practical benefits of the contactless system.
Tonearm Options
Esoteric will sell the T-01 both with and without a tonearm. The full T-01 includes the company’s static-balanced tonearm, while the T-01AL is sold without an arm for buyers who already have a preferred solution. The turntable can support up to two tonearms, although adding a second requires an additional arm base kit. Esoteric says custom arm bases can also be ordered for compatible third-party tonearms.

The Esoteric T-01 is scheduled to begin international shipping at the end of September 2026.
At $50,000, this is clearly not aimed at the average vinyl listener. It is a statement turntable for serious high-end systems, where reducing vibration, rotational instability, and mechanical noise becomes part of a much larger pursuit of extracting every last detail from a record.
What makes the T-01 especially interesting is that Esoteric isn’t simply relying on mass and exotic materials. MagneDrive is a genuinely different approach to turntable propulsion, while Magne-Float, external clock synchronization, and the separated power supply show just how far the company is willing to go in pursuit of precision analog playback.
For a product built around vinyl, the engineering is remarkably futuristic.
