At CES 2026, LG is bringing back one of its most ambitious TV designs: the Wallpaper OLED. Officially named the LG OLED evo W6, the new model revives the ultra-thin, wall-hugging form factor first introduced in 2017, this time paired with True Wireless connectivity and LG’s latest OLED picture advancements.
The W6 headlines LG’s broader 2026 OLED evo lineup, marking the company’s 13th consecutive year as a leader in OLED TVs. While the Wallpaper TV remains a niche product by design, it also functions as a technology showcase—demonstrating how far OLED brightness, wireless video delivery, and industrial design have progressed.
Design: Ultra-Thin, Truly Wireless (Almost)
The defining feature of the OLED evo W6 is its physical design. The panel measures just nine millimeters thick, achieved through a complete internal redesign that moves nearly all electronics out of the display itself. A revised wall mount allows the TV to sit flush against the wall from edge to edge, reinforcing the “wallpaper” concept rather than the look of a traditional TV.
Connectivity is handled via LG’s Zero Connect Box, which houses all HDMI and external inputs and transmits audio and video wirelessly to the panel. The box can be placed up to 10 meters (33 feet) away, allowing the TV to be installed without visible signal cables. The display still requires a power connection, but the absence of source cables is a major visual improvement over conventional installations.
LG positions the W6 as the thinnest True Wireless OLED TV currently available, delivering visually lossless 4K video and audio without a physical connection between source devices and the panel.
Picture Technology: Hyper Radiant Color and Higher Brightness
The W6 debuts Hyper Radiant Color Technology, which LG describes as the next step in OLED performance. The focus is on three areas: brightness, color accuracy, and black-level integrity, while also reducing screen reflections.
The panel is powered by Brightness Booster Ultra, with LG claiming luminance levels up to 3.9 times brighter than conventional OLEDs. While LG has not disclosed peak nit measurements for the W6, the same brightness system is also being deployed across the 2026 OLED evo lineup.
Reflection handling is another area of emphasis. The W6 uses a newly engineered screen coating that achieves the lowest reflectance of any LG TV to date, earning the industry-first Reflection Free Premium certification from Intertek. Combined with OLED’s inherent pixel-level light control, the display maintains Perfect Blacks and Perfect Colors, even in brightly lit rooms.
Processing: Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen 3
Driving these visual improvements is the α (Alpha) 11 AI Processor Gen 3, which features a Neural Processing Unit claimed to be 5.6 times more powerful than the previous generation. This processing headroom enables LG’s Dual AI Engine, which runs parallel algorithms for noise reduction and texture preservation.
Rather than aggressively sharpening images, the system aims to balance clarity and natural detail—an area where AI-driven processing often struggles. The result, according to LG, is a cleaner image that avoids artificial edge enhancement.
Gaming Performance
Despite its design-first positioning, the W6 is equipped with LG’s full gaming feature set. It supports:
-
4K resolution at up to 165Hz
-
NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible
-
AMD FreeSync Premium
-
Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM)
-
0.1ms pixel response time
These specs place the W6 on par with LG’s performance-focused OLED models, making it viable for high-end console and PC gaming despite its ultra-thin construction.
Software and AI Experience
The W6 runs LG’s latest webOS, with a heavy emphasis on personalization. Voice ID allows the TV to recognize individual users and automatically switch profiles, loading personalized apps, content recommendations, and widgets.
LG’s Multi-AI framework integrates both Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot, enabling conversational queries, contextual content discovery, and AI-generated imagery. The updated AI Concierge helps surface related information through features like “In This Scene,” which provides cast details and context without interrupting playback.
Security is handled by LG Shield, a CES 2026 Innovation Award winner, which provides device-level encryption and safeguards personalized data.
LG Gallery+ and Ambient Use
The W6 also supports LG Gallery+, turning the display into a digital art and ambient canvas when not in active use. The service includes more than 4,500 curated visuals, personal photo collections, and AI-generated imagery, paired with optional mood-based background music. Gallery+ is available across LG’s 2026 TV lineup but feels particularly well suited to the Wallpaper TV’s design-first intent.
Sizes and Availability
The LG OLED evo W6 Wallpaper TV will be available in:
-
77-inch
-
83-inch
LG has not yet announced pricing. Availability is expected in 2026, with regional rollout details to follow after CES.
Final Take
The OLED evo W6 is not designed to be LG’s best-selling TV—but it remains one of its most technically expressive. By combining an ultra-thin form factor, True Wireless video delivery, higher OLED brightness, and modern AI-driven software, LG is using the Wallpaper TV to demonstrate what’s possible at the high end of display design.
For most buyers, LG’s G- and C-series OLEDs will remain the practical choice. But for those prioritizing aesthetics without giving up flagship performance, the W6 stands as a clear statement piece—and one of the most distinctive TVs at CES 2026.
